Although you are not allowed to clamp a car on your property, you are allowed to put up barriers to prevent it leaving or to prevent it getting there in the first place so I would have thought that blocking it in on your own land cannot be obstruction.
You are also allowed to move a car which is causing you obstruction on your own land provided you do not charge for this, but then you get the car owner complaining about "damage" to their car, so best not to do it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

If this really is a care home, go and see the owner and tell him assertively that you are about to call both the Local Authority (who often foot the bill for residents) and the Care Quality Commission, who oversee all regulatory requirements of the sector. Restricted ambulance and fire access to such places is a no-no and if he wants to keep his licence he has to be a good neighbour.
Thanks for this suggestion - the Care Quality Commission sounds like it might be worth a shot. I think there is safety in numbers, so perhaps a joint complaint from all four neighbours might be the way to go.
The ambulance and fire access is a very good point. A fire engine would never be able to get along our track, making me wonder again how they ever got permission to convert the house into a care home.
Thanks again for the advice

I wonder if it is legal for you to buy a wheel clamp, print notices saying "You have parked illegally on private land, please call (insert your number) to release, there will be a £50 admin charge. Cash only." & basically clamp anytime someone parks on your land.?I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Sadly, since Oct 2012, it is illegal for me to clamp them.
A shame, because I'd dearly love to

The Google Earth image is pretty awful as there are trees blocking the view. Let me see if I can do a bit of a Photoshopping on it to improve it. Give me a couple of minutes...0 -

what a shame, then in that case some strategically placed nails under their tires might get the message across.

You are allowed to stop it leaving, eg by securing your gate, (obviously to prevent further vehicles entering and generally to secure your property, unfortunate that they are the wrong side of the gate) but I think you would have to indicate who to contact to get the gate opened, and you cannot extort a ransom to do so- but you could be out when they call.
If you get locked in at a normal carpark or on a factory estate you have to wait, usually until they open again.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

OK here's my house:

I live in No2. The care home is No3. Access to the main road is to the right of No5. Blue boxes are people's garages. As you can see, the care home already has three parking spaces, but it seems that's not enough. The red crosses are where the care home staff park if their drive is full.
Each house owns all the way up to the fence at the bottom of the picture, but everyone else has rights to drive over the others' land to get to their house.
(No1 has gates at the bottom right of his property, so I leave that spot clear at all times.)
Hope that makes sense. My Photoshop skills are pretty rubbish
