You are far too late, the CPP refund scheme ended more than eighteen months ago.
  • HSBC have agreed to refund my payments pre January 2005. However before they issue the cheque they require me to provide essential identification which they require to be signed by a doctor, solicitor, MP etc. All of these will require payment. How have any of you overcome this obstacle without paying somebody?

I finally decide to answer one of those calls about PPI misselling.
A firm call U Legal from Wales sounded quite sincere and asked for more details and gave me a reference on the https://www.gov.uk site with a reference which showed them to be approved by some government regulator.

The only document I can find is from Credit Card Sentinel, 250 High Street Croydon, Surrey in 1989 showing a list of cards that were to be protected. I did have correspondence from CCP and the little stickers but no sign of them now in 2016.
As it's so old it seems like a lot of work to contact card firms that may no longer exist or have changed to something else so I'm going with the PPI reclaim company.

I'll report on any activity or success on this thread which might help others to do the same.

Any successful complaint redress will therefore be reduced by fully a third (plus VAT) and all the firm will do is put a stamp on the envelope which contains your complaint.

Do it yourself. The complaint process is simple and free.

Having said that, if all you have is CPP then you are already eighteen months too late...

Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.
  • Hi
Did you have any luck with this? I've got the same issue of cheque expiring and they've said they won't reissue the cheque.

    Thanks in advance

No reported successes in this thread of anyone having expired cheques re-issued.
    Here's the official reasoning behind this;
Section 5.10 of the High Court's Scheme Arrangement:

Any cheque not encashed within six months shall be cancelled and the Scheme Claim to which it relates shall be deemed to have expired and such Scheme Creditor shall not receive any Redress and shall have no right of recourse to the Dispute Resolution Procedure. (Can be found here: http://cppredressscheme.co.uk/Scheme_Document.pdf)
  • Hi all.

Have an old CPP card protection policy which dates from 2003. Has anyone had any luck writing to their bank as per the MSE article?

Feel quite silly for both having had the policy so long and not knowing about the redress scheme.

    Lovely, thanks for that.

I wonder if he used the redress scheme to claim for the post 2005 years. Hopefully HSBC will agree to the whole lot. Worth a try.
