Hampers - charity shops or your local B&M store or free-cycle network or go online - ebay is good.
Items for hamper - you know your people best. There are movie hampers, zombie ones, favorite things, etc, etc. For more ideas you can look up the finished hampers thread, banging ideas from previous years on there. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1175727
I also use Hot Deals UK locate interesting/cheap items available at the shops. http://www.hotukdeals.com/groceries/deals/hot The link is for the groceries but they have other items available.
Hope this helps you get started.
After work today I went to Dunelm Mill and picked up a few things, they had a Reduced To Clear sale! Picked up some wicker baskets, a couple of half price Xmas fleeces and a bunch of nice candles at 75% off :j
Then I nipped across the road to B&M and just bought a few little bits and pieces including but not limited to a One Direction toothbrush and a ton of retro sweets!
I'm quite crafty and have all the stuff already required to make some pretty neat little tissue paper flowers to pop in there amongst some shredded tissue paper! So that'll be nice without breaking the bank!
My boyfriends favourite things include zombies, Lego and comic books - yes, sometimes I think he's 7, not 27! So I'll probably work my theme around that if I can!
Can't wait to have a look at that thread, get some inspiration and start putting them together, but 6.30am is not the time! :P
Thanks for your help!0 -
Lady of D, Glad to help anytime.
I am impressed with your glorious start and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an even better finish. My dentist friend always say if you are gonna give sweets for presents, add a toothbrush.....Spoil sport!!!
I wish I was crafty...........I mean I am, as in evil genius but not in handiworks:rotfl:. I am sure your paper flowers will be lovely. Pop a pic on here when you are done so I can be jealous0 -
Hi Folks, Help please!!!
To cellophane or not to cellophane? That is the question. :undecided
It is individual presents for my sister's family in one hamper box, forgot to take pics before wrapping up. Anyway, after the wrapping, I'm wondering if adding the cellophane won't be a bit too much......:think:0 -
yes, I would put cellophane on it, all bunched up and tied with a nice bow.. it will keep all the bits together nicely..

I got mine from Lidl. Not a huge amount on the roll, but only 99p. Rummage through the wrapping paper because it's not obvious which is cellophane if it's the patterned stuff-they had clear too, btw.
Or buy that scrunchy metallic wrap if you can't find cellophane. Keeps the gifts hidden too.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Merry Christmas to y'all. I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you for all your help. The hampers turned out lovely and were much appreciated. I got the title of the bestest aunt in the whole world this christmas, lol, so i guess my job was done well. Anyways, i wish you all a happy successful money saving new year and looking forward to doing this again next year.

Rather than scan 26 pages, can anyone suggest a good source of cheapish hampers/baskets, or do people tend to use gift boxes?
A couple of relatives gave them this year and I thought 'I'd like to do that'!0
