    I've been Money Tipped!
Penguins....... Pjs and slipper socks should be really easy to find Thai time of year, as would a small penguin teddy, do they do an adopt a penguin set? Maybe check amazon of that one?

Bird feeding....... How about a book about common birds so your mum could recognise which birds are visiting. How about a disposable camera (if she doesn't have a digital one) so she can snap the birds that visit.

Really impressed with everyone's Hamper ideas :)

I enjoy buying lots of smaller gifts for people rather than one large gift.

I have 5 children to buy for from 4-12 years old and so far their hampers:
PJs from Tesco with a discount code £4.20 a pair
Nestle Selection bag (rather than box) £1.00 from tesco
Small lego bag £1.50 in Tesco reduced from £3
Mini nail varnishes for the girls

To add: Hot choc sticks, Packet of microwave popcorn, socks, cheap DVD, football stickers for boys or torch

I am also planning to create a hamper for my dad who is so difficult to buy for. He like's beer so i'm going to venture to aldi and co-op etc for some more unusual alternative brands and add to that some festive nuts and a bottle opener. Also in aldi I noticed they had some octoberfest brand items (the german beer festival)

Idea for an afternoon tea theme hamper with minature jams, posh teabags, a new(cheap) teapot or mugs, magazine/book and *BuyaGift.com* had an offer for there £29 tasting for two voucher (which includes 55 afternoon tea venues) plus use topcashback for £4.00 back and a discount code for 10-15% off?
It's all about the cashback!

My brother, who is a student, asked for cash this year as he is saving up for an expensive mountaineering course.

I didn't like the idea of just giving cash in an envelope, so I made a 'box' of gold hamper instead :)

It is a small Amazin box with the lid 'flaps' removed. I covered that in Christmas paper. I then filled the box with gold tissue paper.

    The box contains:
Nescaf! gold coffee (well, he is a student!)
Waitrose gold blend teabags (see above!)
Money in a money wallet with a gold envelope, with a gold bow stuck on it
    A giant gold chocolate coin
And then lots of mini chocolate coins, various mini chocolates with gold wrappers and fererro rocher.

I then wrapped the whole thing in cellophane with gold stars on it, added a ribbon, and a little cardboard tag with a silly poem I wrote on it.

I know it is a bit rough and ready but it is the first thing of this kind I have made. I wish I had taken a picture of it before I added the cellophane but never mind!

    The poem reads:

You asked for cash this Christmas
But I thought I'd go one better.
Haven't slipped it in a card,
Haven't sent it in a letter.

    So have a box full of gold;
    Enjoy your Christmas cheer.
Use it to climb a mountain,
Just don't spend it all on beer!
  • Daisiegg, it is lovely with lots of thought put in. I am sure your brother will like it. Well done!
