Spent the afternoon playing chess & Scrabble with DD. I am now going to get on with the sewing. I will have these pants in the wash by tonight!!

I have just amended my post - I had spelled muslin with the same letter at the end as the beginning - oops!

Also added to strain overnight. Don't force the juice through; apparently it will 'cloud' the jelly.

 don't strain it through one of those! :p

So, regarding the challenge, are we keeping on the same thread? I can try get on straight after Natty on Sunday and list our personal challenges - feel free to pm me yours and I'll compile a list, which I can add to, and each Sunday night I can do an update on the previous week with a reminder of who's on the list? Does that sound ok?

Not done a lot, been out all aft but I do have a vax steam mop in my car :T what's it doing there, you might ask :rotfl: well I shall experiment when the kids have gone to bed. Sooner rather than later, as they are shattered...

DD has had guinea pig cuddles, hope she's not disappointed when she realises her birthday present from granny isn't a real one

Right, off to get tots above stairs with milk and pjs since they are not eating their tea...

Are you all out having fun? I'm in having fun, just steam mopped my entire downstairs :T I like how fast the floors dry, but I'm finding it does leave some little lines of muck now and then, with a regular mop that would be a rinse and squeeze, but with this I think I need a second cover.

The pad was ready to fling in the wash, don't get me wrong, but happily it wasn't as dirty as I expected.

Sat in conservatory just now, and it does look very clean.

Are they ok to use vertically for wall tiles? Do you ever put any cleaning product in? I just used water, but was tempted to add a drop of fl@sh with febr33ze

    Saturday nights rock!

I am at home. I have to be up at Sparrowfart to take DD to her friend's. Friend's parents are taking 3 girls on aUni visit - to Edinburgh! She's to be there for 7...

I'm going to watch New Tricks - just tidying up after tea - beef cobbler. Jo Wheatley's recipe. Not moneysaving but it was luscious.

Thanks froddington, I have windows phone so that app isn't available for me. Need to get some music onto my phone, though! My Sunday morning job... Ooh and make sure I have a coat with zip pocket lol...

I don't have any music on my phone yet either so that's another job I need to do. Think it will be next weekend before I attempt to start anything as I'm coughing and sniffing like a good 'un at the moment!

    Hugs to all xx

I think there's something going round, both my kids have been unwell this week, and I feel quite catarrhy (if that's a word...)

I have done THREE WM loads overnight - lines are full (bedding) and I have some on standby waiting to go out.
    DW emptied.

I am beside myself with jealousy. Washing machine comes back Monday morning - and will be thoroughly tested! In addition to the build up O/H has brought the cricket umpires coats home for washing!:mad::mad::mad:

I have ordered a wardrobe for DD2 and been to look at bikes for her. Also had an eye test - okay to use these glasses for the next 12months - that hasn't happened in the last 20 years!

O/H will be working in York as of Monday, instead of out at Monks cross. This means he'll be home earlier, but I lose my regular ASDA shopping facility. So I cycled home with a load of fruit from the market today - very MSE - some was reduced...

  • Evening everyone

Up at the crack of dawn this morning to go to Aldi which is a 50 mile round trip. No matter how I shop I always spend less at Aldi and its worth doing once in a while to get a good stock up.

Made a cake to take to a friends BBQ so had a lovely free feed, a couple of glasses of wine and a nice natter.

I am on medication for a mild medical condition and I keep forgetting to take my tablets which is really annoying, I feel a bit ill now because I forget yesterday. Anyone got any tips for managing this, other than one of those pill mates? Sigh, must be a sign of getting older.

Anyhow, off to bed now. Oh, need to take a chicken out for tea tomorrow.

Ladies, any advice for getting washing sorted when you don't have access to an outside line and there's no tumble dryer?

My laundry basket is constantly overflowing because I live in a top floor flat and have no where apart from clothes horses to dry our washing. It's really depressing getting home from work and just seeing two full clothes horses in the corner of our already small living room, knowing that there's at least another ten loads to go in the basket.
