Trixie I really miss having a decent market to browse around, there isn't such a thing where I live. Well done with your frugalness :T
I am still learning about frugality. I get to spend cash here and there but atleast now I am aware.
This morning, i put the Chicken Tikka Masala in two containers and put them on the freezer for 2 lunches. I had to clean up the fridge, discard some overdue cooked food and checked that for the next 1 week - there's enough food for the family.
:T
Lunch today - pork veggies (some leftover, getting used to this, haha):rotfl:Salary Loan: $16,737.42; $ 14,099.64

Morning All
I dont work weekends, so i am having a lazy Sunday today. Only just got up!
I am not working tomorrow either, but will count it as a LTW day as i thought i was working. I'll just eat it at home instead.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!0 -
Morning everyone
I am now upto 9/11 days - took pesto pasta for work on Thursday. Didn't end up working Friday but am still upto date as I worked Tuesday instead.
Am really pleased with how I have managed this challenge, it has made me think and plan ahead a lot more than I would usually. If I am out for the day I always try and take some sort of food with me now rather than buy something. I did buy a supermarket sandwich on my day off the other day in an emergency but I figured it was better than going to St*rbucks or other similarly expensive place!0 -
Teacher I can see how you are so hectic then, it's an important year for children as they get ready to go to the 'big school'. Hopefully work will start to settle down a bit :T
Trixie there are a lot of MSE members who recommend cook double and freeze half so you are doing really well :j
WTBSE I don't work weekends either so it's 2 days of eating at home.
KT I'm glad some good has come out of following and contributing tom the thread, you should be quite rightly pleased with yourself :T
Lunch will be a bit of a mixture seeing as though one of my darling boys left the freezer door open overnight and everything has half defrosted. I didn't really have that much in there and most of it is stuff that nobody wants to eat anyway so on my day off I will be cleaning the freezer out ready for Christmas food - all is not lost
Keep at it everyone - October will be upon us before we know it!Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
Hello everyone,
Tomorrow's lunch is a bit of tuna pasta leftover from the weekend and a cheese and salad sandwich with some fruit. Thinking tuna, quorn ham, hummus for the rest of the week.

Hello all day 13 for me I did have one little slip last week but I'm back on the bandwagon now

Hello Everyone
Day 15/19 for me. Yoghurt for breakfast (and some home baking brought in to work by a colleague :T). Cheese and Ham pieces for lunch.
KittieJ if I do buy lunch its not usually over £3 and I try not to do it too often but, I think this challenge is saving me a lot more as I am planning for my lunches which is making me be stricter about planning dinners and stopping the dreaded top up shops which end up costing more than my weekly shop:mad: not to mention making me avoid the shops at lunchtime.
I hope you didnt lose too much from your freezer which reminds me that I really need to defrost mine.
Cant wait till the end of the month to tot everything up and see how much I have saved. I think I might be able to pay a chunk of my OD.
Think it will be roast pork sandwiches tomorrow as I got a great deal on a roast at the weekend so, I just need to slice it tonight. Yum Yum0 -
Hi everyone, 1 week to go and then September is gone again for another year
Dozey crow hope the job is going good, well done with the lunches :T
Trixie what have you been doing with your leave? Playing with the baby and planning your next frugal plan of attack?Well done!
IDB don't worry about the blip, get back on that bandwagon :rotfl:
Nellie I'm glad this thread has helped you with thinking about meal planning too :j yes do let us know how much you've saved and brilliant work if you can pay some of the OD off :T
I didn't lose too much, mainly onion bhajis from those curry kits from the supermarkets, veg that will never get eaten and other odds and sods.
I took Quorn sarnies today and the same tomorrow.
Won't be long and we'll be onto the thread for October!Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000
