  • Thanks for the support KittieJ.

Another successful day (7/19) cereal bar for breakfast from desk supplies and leftover pasta and a yoghurt for lunch.

I did go to the shops but just had a browse in the bookshop to give me ideas on what books to get from the library so another NSD for me. Yippee. :j

    Hiya Nellie - you're most welcome :)

Well done on another successful LTW day and as for the books what a good idea :T

I think once you start doing the small things like taking your lunch to work etc it makes you look at other areas to make improvements.

Some great successes going on, well done :T:j:T

  • Day 7 down! :)

I bought a sneaky chocolate bar as an afternoon treat, but I'm not really counting that... ;)

  • Leftover sweet and sour pork and rice (cooked at home, not take away!) for lunch today.

Sorry my posts are brief....work is consuming my life:eek:

    September lunch to work 21/21
  • No work today but it's playdate at my place.

Sweet champorado for the kids which was prepared by the nanny before she left for Denmark this morning.

Chicken and vegetable soup for the mommies.

Except for the pasta and the veggies - everything else came from the cupboard. All need to be cooked before reaching to the forgotten point and already expired.

Guilty here, i am used to just throwing items because they are already expired. Well, it is not happening anymore.

Hi Trixie, you seem to be grasping the frugalista lifestyle with both hands, it becomes addictive :)

Enjoy your play date and well done for using up what you already have :T

  • I have no other choice KittieJ. Learning it the hard way and still trying to watch out my attitude towards bargains. Money handling so to speak...

I also have to search the cupboard on anything that I know I can prepare for next week's lunch.

You'll get there Trixie, have you tried keeping a spending diary? This can be a handy way to see where money is being spent on little bits and bobs.

Having a budget and sticking to it is another way especially if you pay for groceries with cash because that way you can see how much money you have left of your budget instead of putting items onto a card and not really knowing where the money has gone.

Meal planning is a useful resource. Plan all of your meals for the next week and only buy the ingredients needed for those meals.

There are quite a few tricks you can use to help :)
