How about historical re-enactment or live action role playing (LARP)?

Huge amount of different re-enactment groups. You can be anything from stone age man to WW2. Check out living history forum if you think it might be something you like.

LARP = Camping and running round castles and woods dressed as all sorts of characters and/or monsters and fighting with fake weapons.

    All great fun!

Fitness class in the morning, cinema, pub for lunch, dinner with friends, jobs round the flat and popping to my parents for Sunday roast. Less often I'll cook a batch of meals to freeze for weeknights after work, invite a friend round for the weekend or travel to theirs, do a diy job, go to a market, farmers market or fair, see a stately home, find a pub quiz, or go to a shopping centre.

I'll be running 10miles tomorrow morning in prep for a half marathon.

How strange - that looks like English but it just doesn't make any sense to me ;)

    If the weather behaves:
    - get out and about with the camera (in any weather but rain).
    - gardening.
    - sit in the recently tidied garden and feel proud of myself.

    If it's too nasty outside:
    - DIY - it never ends.
    - curl up on the sofa with a book.

    Any weather:
    - visit friends and family for a natter and a brew.
    - catch up on bills / t'interweb surfing.

Saturdays usually follow the same routine. . Have a little lie in and then head to costa for a coffee, there we tend to write our shopping list before going to sainsburys. After that it's home, have lunch, maybe mse and then do my washing. Evenings we might watch a box set, film or catch up on tv. Sundays tend to be a free-er day where we get up b and decide on the day what to do. This can vary from week to week. .days out, walks, clothes shopping, lunch etc. At the moment it's all diy as we get ready for our baby to arrive. As we work long hours Monday to Friday weekends tend to have chores squeezed in such as cleaning, washing car, windows, weeding and all the other boring tasks!

Our only child is 18 and off to Uni in couple of weeks and she's long been past wanting to spend weekends with OH and me.

OH used to work shifts so I was often alone all weekend and I loved it.

I lie in every Saturday morning till about 10am! I look forward to it and refuse to rise early unless I have special plans.

OH retired now and he rises about 7am and plans his day out on his motorbike.

I like having no plans on Saturday, I like to go with the flow if possible.

Tomorrow I have a family party so today I had to go present buying and I shopped for some unii things for DD. Then I prepared a nice dinner and shared a bottle of wine with OH and now I'm on net, OH on net and DD cwtching for a backscratch off me.

Today we went bowling. Also picked up some storage boxes for game cards as I'm into board games. It depends what the weather is like. Also where I live lots of things to do are outdoors which wouldn't have been great today.

We go to an organised dog walk or dog show nearly every weekend... we're boring. :p
  • It is very rare for OH and I to have any time spare for activities at the weekend due to renovating a house and if we're not doing that we have work to do on the house we live in (basic DIY on this one). Time to see family is planned in but as for seeing friends or doing anything else, we had to tell everyone we were basically off the social scene for a year!!!
  • Go out Friday night.

    Lie in Saturday morning.

    Pub/venue Saturday afternoon/evening.

Watch old movies/listen to old radio shows/talk complete nonsense until extremely late.

Lie in Sunday morning. Rinse and repeat. With an occasional expedition on the buses to somewhere free.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
