What do you do at the weekend?

Just wondering what other forum members, particularly child free couples, tend to do on a weekend?
DH and I are a bit sick of traipsing round the shops in town, and it's not really an option to go for a nice walk when it's horrible weather (like today!). Movie marathons get a bit old too. Feeling quite uninspired... Would love to hear any suggestions!

We watch TV, play games, go to shops that suit our hobbies (rather than general shopping).
We tend not to have money spare to spend, but if we do we'll go shopping properly, go to farmers' markets, go to car boot sales, go to the cinema.
I like going on walks, but OH hates that so it's not something we do together.0 -
White water kayaking, I have my own boat and a mountain bike and road bike. So I go out on them or in my boat.
You can go out for a nice walk in the pouring rain you just need a decent set of waterproofs and Gortex boots. For waterproofs the best i've had are from Paramo or Mountain Equiptment.0 -
Tomorrow we have a trip to a local art gallery and museum planned.
Usual activities are hillwalking (all weathers
) and cycling with the dog.
We also enjoy going to car boot sales for a look although hardly ever leave with anything. Baking can be fun if you are in the mood to be creative.
We do have children and they participate in these activities aswell but I thought they were all rounders and suitable for a child free couple too

Baking, I would love as a hobby. You've made me really want to bake every weekend! Unfortunately, I'm obese and so it's probably not a wise idea...
But oh, the idea of making a treat each week, spending time making it and filling the house with baking smell....
Jealous now, haha.0 -
I went to a cafe to meet a friend and then went to the Amy Winehouse exhibition. On a day like today i'd usually stay inside but had arranged this for ages and didn't want to let my friend down.
Usually we'll go for walks, check out local exhibitions, visit friends or try and cook together.Current debt: M&S £0(£2K) , Tesco £0 (£1.5K), Car loan 6K (paid off!) Barclaycard £1.5K (interest free for 18 months)0 -
Im child free but Im not part of a couple. Today I went to see my local football team play, tomorrow I'll go and do a couple of classes at my local sports centre. I was meant to be going out tonight but its next saturday instead.0

Mainly we mooch around the house or walk in the forest, catch up on sleep, read, garden. Occasionally we'll do something like visit the British Museum. It all depends if I can pry DH away from his laptop!"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

At this time of year the rain doesn't bother us as its not cold just wet. We (adult plus child) have been out at a local event today, not just for children there were plenty of adult only groups there as well. Look in your local paper there tend to be lots of events this time of year. Trips to museums etc, have you been to where the tourists go in your local area? often a good thing to do that people living there don't bother. Meals out at a country pub (if you can't afford a meal, just a drink)
A trip out on a bus somewhere is a good one for a change, buses tend to go off route a bit and you get to see more local areas than a direct car route plus it nicer to talk and relax on a bus when no one has to concentrate on the driving.0 -

Ah but Lagoon you can just go for a walk/cycle afterwards and it cancels the treat out
Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread on a sunday afternoon

Normally we'll watch films, cook interesting 'time-consuming' stuff that I don't have time for in the week (preserves, jams, cakes etc), play computer games, read, go for walks, visit National Trust houses or local attractions, clean, garden, do odd bits of work, go shopping, visit farm shops, visit garden centres, visit friends, go to the cinema, go to local events - occasionally we might crack open the Scrabble board but it all gets a bit competitive
. Every so often we plan a longer trip out, so to London for the day, or to Bristol or Bath. We might drive to the coast or take a picnic somewhere interesting. 0
