What is your contract period? Something like 5 years?
And have you looked at the terms and condition on early termination of contract?
And have you read this?

Ask XLN to put their offer in writing and study what arrives (if anything does) very carefully.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Hi all
Any newer feedback on XLN? In particular, their contract length?
Thanks!0 -
big con really, when all the papers arrived there was no mention of broadband being included so I rang up only to be told it would be an extra £15 a month.
I said the whole purpose of this deal was to get an upgrade to a business line for a better broadband service and that the initial sales person had assured me it was included, she denied it so I cancelled there and then. LIARS!0 -
we signed up with them about a month ago, still no phone line, or broadband. they made an appointment, and said they couldnt get it, and want to charge us. made us a second apointment, then cancelled that 30mins before it was supposed to be, now they dont call us back, and they wont give us a new appointment! i'm really not happy. our account manager is on the case, but no luck so far. We are still hoping to get it installed, and hope this wont be how it will always be!!!0

I'd say someone is trying to tell you something.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Just had an interesting conversation with XLN - they offer cheaper line rental, cheaper call costs and offer to refund any BT cancellation fee, 60 day trial period and 1 year rolling contract. HOwever, we have called today to enquire about the cancellation fee refund and were advised for every £50 they refund this extends the contract length by 1 year, so we would have been tied in for 4 years!!! Its all just a con, in my opinion...0

Of course it is (if the extension wasn't explained, it's of dubious legal merit anyway).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Yes, stop speaking to spammers and buy a deal from a well known entity. And even if that spammer had an interesting deal you'd have to give them all your info. How dumb would that be?
Not dumb enough for some.0
