Well then, maybe you can understand why some of us don't want to be married to someone of a completely different faith.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I understand that people who worship some non-existent thing not wanting to partner another who worships another non-existent thing.
I've never said otherwise.0 -
I don't think any one has said that people should marry out side their faith seven day weekend.
only that it isn't true it can never work unless one person is not true to their faith. It felt like unnecessary and not necessarily valid judgement on others which frankly is the only reason I kept putting the other opinions forward0 -

Someone we knew who was a Christian stood as a council candidate in our ward a few years ago. He was shocked when we aid we couldn't vote for him as he'd had an affair and saw nothing wrong with that! It wasn't so much the affair, none of us are perfect but that he didn't think cheating on a relationship and not being repentant had any bearing on how he would be as a councillor. :mad:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

What does his sex life have to do with him being a councillor? Is it because you think he'd also be dishonest/lacking in morals in his professional life as well?"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -

If you can cheat on your spouse and not think there is anything wrong with it then yes I would be concerned about how he would behave in his life as a councillor towards the electorate. If he'd shown remorse that would have been very different, we had been really good friends before this.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Fair enough - would you think differently of a non-Christian adulterous councillor to a Christian adulterous councillor?
Is it relevant that it's a sexual sin? Would you apply the same standards to a gossip, glutton etc?"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000 -

It would be that with me, I would have to decide whether I thought the fact that he had broken promises to his wife and didn't care meant he would do the same with his politics.
If the guy had not professed to be a Christian his affair would not necessarily be an issue.
As to the other issues you mention - being a glutton affects no-one but him, but I would be concerned if he was a gossip.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
