then when asked if they want the relationship to end, and if that is what the want, to say I am not sure of anything......

Sounds like someone wants out but is being a coward about it.

    Sorry.
  • I think it means, "I'm shagging someone else", or alternatively, if a slightly more honourable type, "I'd like to shag someone else"
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I'm afraid its this - And they are clearly being quite spineless about it and want you to be the one to actually make the decision to end it.

    Sadly I have to agree.
Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.
  • It means "I thought I loved you and believed I could see a long-term future for us together but now I don't". Most possibly because something better came along.

Often it means that they have only remained in the relationship because it was comfortable and consistent. Likely they never expected the relationship to last, nor saw it as a long-term thing but allowed it to become one due to the fact that no alternative offers were being tabled. They may have even convinced themselves at one point or another that they were actually happy, although this was a self-delusion.

Now, they've realised that they have allowed things to go much too far and that they need to make a break from the relationship. This sometimes may involve the "better" offer presenting itself, or merely their fear of being alone being replaced by a fear of being forever with someone they do not love. However, they're not a complete jackass (just partly) and so in a vain attempt to spare the feelings of the person they have been deceiving, they come out with this nonsense hoping that they will be dumped and thus can have a relatively guilt-free breakup. It is rather cowardly.

Agree with the above, someone is out of the honeymoon period and bored with it and wants to move to fresh pastures.

It means i am a coward and i am using words to let you work out that i am out of here..But i want you to tell me to go.
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

They have got someone elce, the only thing you can do is move on and find someone better. If its a guy in my experience men do not leave partners to be single when they are getting sex, washing done, their tea cooked etc. It has to be for a better offer otherwize they just stick it out. Other people may think differently, but thats what I've seen.
Its not odd at all, hes just telling you hes off without saying hes shagging another woman.
