There are procedures for statutory recognition if an employer refuses to recognise a union and this is what the employees want
    how many employees? 1? 10? 30?

I wasn't aware a company had to recognise any union.

Not at all. The people who have got no rise wont care what the ones with 10% end up with

From what you say it sounds like you think there is an amount of ££ to be shared out in pay rises and that's not the case at all.

If a company decide you get zero one year nothing anyone says will make them give you a pay rise.

Until tell me seriously how that works I will keep asking.

As I said, I am not willing to cover this ground again with you. I'm not trying to be unhelpful however we have already discussed exactly this and it still wasn't clear to you. This suggests to me that my explaining it again will not help you to understand. Hence my recommendation that you read up on it yourself.

I don't want to as I can tell you if you work in a company and ONE PERSON is in a union that is no good to anyone at all.

The ones with the pay rise wont care of the ones without.

No one like I say will care that one person never got a pay rise............what a shame.

And I can tell (and have told!) you that your understanding of how it works or might work is some way off the mark.

It's a shame that you are allowing your preconceptions about something to prevent you from seeking to understand it better.

Again, your understanding of how it works or might work is some way off the mark. That link was information about statutory recognition, not collective bargaining. Refer to my previous recommendation to undertake further reading!

'the union must have at least 10 per cent membership'

Couldn't think of 2.5 head office staff who would join a union to fight for a pay rise for someone else.

You don't get it either when I say a management accountant on £60k a year or an FD on £105k will not care that IT gets 1% or I got 0%

To have 10% of staff in a union in the one company wont happen where I have worked.

I don't need to, as I wont join a union as I have told you they would not and could not get me a pay rise. If you really think they could why are we all in unions doing this bargaining!?

Its a shame you just wont tell me.

10% of the company ask the company for better pay rises with the union in tow

The company tell them to p*ss off

    the end
