How do you figure that collective bargaining means you will lose a pay rise?
Not sure what you mean about saying something to your boss about getting a pay rise, sorry?
Tell me how this works? I have asked you before and still none the wiser
If a union went to my bosses and said 1 person didn't get one what do you think the answer would be?We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
and my reply would be 'I am not entering the stock room till sorted' and then report it to the council who get health and safety in to have a look at the work place under 'trips and slips' and they do a routine check saying they are looking at offices in the area
Funny you should say that because someone (not me) did report the problem to the council who came to investigate twice that I am aware of before I had my accident. The company's response was to send down 2 big trucks the day of the repeat inspection. All excess stock was put in the trucks and driven around until the council had been and gone. That night we were told to work late to unload all the stock back out of the trucks!0 -

Ok so say 10 people get 5 % and 10 get 4%, 10 people get 2% and 1 gets none

Yes I recall having this discussion with you before.
As you say, you don't understand collective bargaining. Fair enough, it is a jargonistic term.
I have tried to explain it before but we didn't get anywhere so I would recommend some further research online or at your local library.0 -

Just tell me how a union gets to see my boss and ask for them to give me a pay rise?
Its a simple question.
No one is going to sacrifice their pay rise by bargaining for anyone else.
Its not like there is a pot of ££ and its been divided up so you know want it to be re divided. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

How do you know it doesn't work if you don't know how it is meant to work?!
If your employer recognises a union for collective bargaining the recognition agreement will specify how the bargaining would take place.
This could for example take place at an annual meeting between the employer and the union negotiators.
I get the impression you think it works along the lines of A negotiates for B's pay rise and B negotiates for A's? If so this is a long way off the mark.
I spent some time on a previous thread trying to help you understand this, and we still aren't understanding each other.
I am perfectly happy for you if you don't want to research this any further but I don't have the time or inclination to go over this again when you could read up on it yourself if you really do want to understand how it works.
If you choose to read about it yourself then have any questions or need any clarification then I may be able to answer or point you in the direction of further resources.0 -

.
From what you say it sounds like you think there is an amount of ££ to be shared out in pay rises and that's not the case at all.
If a company decide you get zero one year nothing anyone says will make them give you a pay rise.
Until tell me seriously how that works I will keep asking. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
