Had a productive day yesterday -have ordered some more boxes as the 30 they gave us have all been packed up. DH even sorted out his office - well he got rid of a lot of stuff, the rest is all over the office floor

Feeling a bit more in control of the move now that a lot of the house has been packed up and stacked up neatly in the spare room. Need to make sure I don't get complacent though as there is still lots more to do.

Taking it easy today, ironing all done and I'm going to concentrate on going through the filing cabinets and making a note of everyone I need to contact for change of details.

Fairly high spend day yesterday with:
    £33 - takeaway
£8.50 - gum shield and sports socks
£6.50 - chocolates and card for DS's friend - still need to buy him a present as he wants something that I need to order from the internet.

I'm hoping for a fairly low spend next week, most of the food we have already. It's DSS2's 17th bday on Thursday. I have money allocated in the bday pot for his present which will be driving lessons, not very exciting but he's happy with that. He does want to go out to dinner which will probably end up more expensive than his present as dinner for 6 isn't cheap. We have a new pizza £xpress opening up down the road so we are going to go there as I think we have some vouchers. We won't be going until the day we move as his brother will be over to help us and as we would have got a takeaway that night it will kill two birds with one stone :)

    To Do list:
    • [STRIKE]ironing[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]order DSS2's bday pressies from the kids[/STRIKE]£37 of which the kids will pay £25
    • [STRIKE]go through school emails and action[/STRIKE]hmm can't print or read emails as laptop seems to be failing in every aspect. Managed to read them on Ipad but can't print from there
    • [STRIKE]sort out filing[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]sort out food that needs to be frozen before it goes off[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]sort out fridge[/STRIKE]

    and relax :rotfl:

Enjoy the last of the weekend

It sounds like you've got it all under control PFTP (excuse my incorrect capitals).

The idea to move will bring you to your goal considerably faster (and there might be additional fringe benefits (i.e. lower heating bill, has the council tax dropped?)

I'm finding your diary very interesting, I love reading about people flipping ideas on their head.

Thanks Edinburger -hoping for quite a substantial savings benefit from the move culminating from the rent reduction, council tax, utility bills and petrol. We are also thinking about selling one of the cars :) - It will around 4 months before we see the benefit as the cost of moving is quite substantial but I'm looking foward to that date immensely, just hoping that the rewards won't be drunk/eaten down the pub/coffee shops which will soon be in walking distance:rotfl:

I can feel a moan coming on from me but it will have to wait as I have a lot to get done, maybe later, it does help to vent my frustration

Lots of updating budget accounts and moving money around from various accounts today. If I don't do it everyday it's easy to slip into chaos

Was hoping for a NSD but have had to pay:
    £20- DDS2 dinner money
    £20 - DDS2 new rugby shorts
    £170 - CC payment (Mr T points)
£120 - DDS2 bday money to DH to sort out driving lessons.
£60 - deposit for DD's school trip to Madrid.

All payments budgeted for but no wonder there is never any money left for me :(

Day started off with good intentions but DS got up late making us late for school. Then informed me that he had left his school bag at his dads so I had to drive over to the next town to pick it up and take it back to school - discovered in the process that he hadn't done his french homework that he told me he had - there's gonna be trouble tonight

Mr Mu$cled oven, put washing on, took tenancy agreement to letting office but had to come back and pick up the other piece of information that I was meant to give them. Sorted out all bank accounts and moved around money and now I need to write my list for the day

    Things still to do:
    • [STRIKE]clean out fridge that I should have done yesterday[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]contact utility companies and council tax to notify of change of address[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]clean out the toilets and bathrooms - before they start to smell[/STRIKE]:o
    • [STRIKE]start on the packing again - pack up stuff that I have dumped in the spare room[/STRIKE]work in progress
    • [STRIKE]school pick up[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]cook dinner - salmon and pesto/chicken and pesto/salmon and macaroni cheese - should be an easy meal but one doesnt like salmon, one doesnt like pesto, one can only eat gluten free spaghetti and one doesnt like spaghetti so will have to do couscous - God give me strength[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Go to war with hormonal teenage son over homework, lies and and getting out of bed on time[/STRIKE]:mad:solved - put his clock forwards by 10 minutes and discovered he'd done his homework in the back of his book - or so he says
    • sit down, relax and think of all the things I am grateful for:) hmm struggling with this at the moment, but I know there are many things :)

    Tomorrow I will be a better mood - I promise :D

  • I just wrote a really long post - the past 10 years of my life - decided I will keep it for another day and will summarize instead :)

    DH is carp with money.

    I pay all the bills.

DH went into a mega strop when I suggested he might want to take his son to school (40 miles each day) in the smaller car which costs half the amount of petrol which I can't afford to pay for or possibly let him catch the bus that goes from outside our house as he is 17 next week:mad:

Why is it ok for him to spend £300 a month on cigarettes and for me to get the brunt of his anger when I make a simple suggestion of how to save some money :(

There is a whole history behind the event today - one day I will post it, but first I need another glass of wine :rotfl:

Tomorrow I will no doubt have a hangover

It's not, but you love him :)

It's not a trait that I'm proud of, but I also tend to fly off the handle when a loved one corrects me/thinks that I'm wrong. A good 50% of the time I'll realise that I was dead wrong, will feel like a total t*t and will apologise after the event. There's a very good chance he knows that you're completely right, but that he's just having a negative response to the fact that he feels a bit like the aforementioned t*t today...

    *But seriously - what's that - 30 a day?!
