It's not a trait that I'm proud of, but I also tend to fly off the handle when a loved one corrects me/thinks that I'm wrong. A good 50% of the time I'll realise that I was dead wrong, will feel like a total t*t and will apologise after the event. There's a very good chance he knows that you're completely right, but that he's just having a negative response to the fact that he feels a bit like the aforementioned t*t today...
*But seriously - what's that - 30 a day?!
Thanks Edinburgher- I know that it is just his own frustration that causes this - but he never seems to learn and yes that is 30 a day paid for by the maintenance money from his x that should be used for his son. I do love him very much and I know that an apology is on its way - well maybe tomorrow. Shame I sold the spare bed :rotfl:

It's a man thing. I think the algebra is:a is = or > b+cWhere a = temper, b = how right you are and c = how wrong they are
.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks GG - I do love a quadratic equation - particularly when it makes me smile :rotfl:Goal:to save £16,000 by 30/09/2019 claw back rental costs

Than you all for your support - love those equations GG.
Well WWIII blew up today which almost resulted in DH walking outThings have calmed down now and DH has talked about his feelings of inadequacy and depression. No amount of future financial security is worth risking a marriage that has so much going for it so I have resolved to myself to take a small step back from the savings. In MS terms this basically means being really careful on how I save to ensure it doesn't impact on our daily lives -more challenging for me but hopefully it won't upset the apple cart so to speak. The words coupon, voucher and NSD will not be uttered from my lips - except on here of course :rotfl:
Today's unbudgeted spends include wine (for me) and a very large compensatory bar of chocolate for the kids
Tomorrow is another day which I know will be better than today
Off to read some diaries (in secret of course)

Sometimes it's too easy to get into the MFW train of thought quickly and it can be a bit challenging for loved ones
It probably won't hurt to cool it a little (doesn't stop you from being a savings ninja in the background).
DH will come around in due course and will no doubt end up just as keen as you.0 -
I don't talk to DH about MSE very much - he just lets me get on with it. He knows I do it - I am sure that he forgets most of the time!
Of course its easier when loved ones are on board - but there are alot of people who have to just sort MSE without talking about it.
Hope everything settles down for you - I am sure that you will find a happy medium for all.

This is the first post for me as an avid lurker of MFWB forum, but I felt that I had to say I have been following your story and wanted to tell you that it often makes me smile!:D. You are committed and motivated and I am amazed you achieve so much with only one pair of hands. Keep going with your undercover MS; perhaps one day I will take a leaf out of your book and all the others and try a diary.
Keep up with the good work, and don't stop your diary...I for one love it.
