Goldiegirl wrote: »Know what you mean about the heating, it somehow seems wrong to have the heating on at this time of year. I remember the Jubilee weekend two years ago, at the start of June. I was sooo cold on the Sunday. I was bundled up in layers of clothes and even had a blanket round me, because I refused to put the heating on in June. I gave in in the end, because my hands were like ice blocks!
Looks like you've got some nice things planned what with the trip to London and a holiday coming up. Enjoy!
Thanks Goldiegirl - really looking forward to spending some quality time with DD - not however looking forward to the weather forecast which is rain!
Heating is back off - jumpers and slipper socks are the order of the day :money:

That is some to-do list, you've certainly brought it back to your diary with full swing. I do love a good to-do list though but DH hasn't found the same love for them yet but they definitely do give structure to any tasks.

Slow going on the the do list but working my way through it when I get the opportunity.
Had a great time in London with DD yesterday.Though I did have to purchase a couple of cabin sized suitcases to make it easier to carry everything as we worked our way up Oxford Street. She bought a sizeable amount of things but as she has to pay for her clothes and had saved up for the trip I couldn't moan. I did however reiterate the importance of saving up for things before buying them as I dread to think of her spending if she got a credit card once she hit 18
DS turn to head into London today - he's gone with his friends to the cinema in Leicester Square.
Have spent all my food budget including the £15 for the xmas shop. No more freezer meals left after tonight. Although I do have rather a large quantity of minced pork which I am at a loss as to know what to do with. I'll have a quick look on-line to see if I can find something for later in the week.
I had a look at amending my monthly budget as its feeling just a little tight at the moment - particularly the entertainment and food budgets. I ended up working out how much extra I would have to save to hit my half way target of £125,000 by the end of this year rather than easing up on the savings! When I looked back to the annual target I had set myself at the beginning of the year I set myself a goal of £18,000 which will get me to £120,000 - think I will be happy with that, definitely don't think I'll get to £125,000.
Off to finish off those passport applications. (turned the heating on again btw)

We opted for meatballs in HM ragu with spaetzle to use up the last of our pork mince. That or burgers or chilli.
Somewhat in awe of your six figure savings. A couple years of that and I could 'retire' in Scotland :eek:0 -

I have every belief that by the time you reach my age you will be well on your way
At this rate with the rise in house prices in London I may well be joining you in Edinburgh!
Thanks for the pork mince idea. I actually found a thread on here for pork mince and have opted for pork apple and cheese meatballs with potato cheese and spring onion fritters and a tomato sauce nom nom:)

Seven for lunch and dinner today - have opted for tuna and sweetcorn wraps for lunch followed by gammon, prawn and spring onion egg fried rice with a hoisin sauce for dinner. Despite having the tuna and gammon, eggs and rice I still managed to spend £10 at Mr T for all the other bits. Now £12 over budget and that doesn't include the £15 I have used from my Christmas food budget.
I have finished my 84 wash bottle of conditioner and I only managed 60 washes out of it. Will try that experiment one more time to see if I can eek out a little more from the bottle
I have booked my annual haircut and colour for Monday - I've not been to this hairdressers before but have been given a 50% discount card for it. At £115 for a half head of highlights (doesn't include the cut) its likely that I won't be using it again afterwards
I need to cancel my Santander 123 credit card today before I get charged the annual fee of £24. I used it for the first year as there was no annual fee and I got a 3% cash back when I used it for petrol but its not worth me doing the same again this year as I also use my amex which gives cash back of 1.25% but also charges £25
Need to tackle my to do list again today -not feeling too motivated with the prospect of business accounts and admin
Fed up with the rain now - and the cold!
