All the stuff addressed 'to the householder' delivered by Royal Mail - definitely. Let the sorting office deal with it and waste their time.
If its addressed to me - I send it back to the idiots with 'not known at this address'. More for them to deal with :D

Just shove all your junk mail into a post box .

If we all did this it would cost Royal Mail more to sort and dispose of it than they make from delivering . Problem solved !

I tried that a couple of times, and it came back to me with the postie's handwritten note "You are the homeowner, you can't return these"!!

Blimey!! I've never had that happen to me.
Depending on my mood, sometimes I just write 'unsolicited junk mail - return to sender' across the envelope

Double glazing salesman and energy salesman also have problems reading too, honestly is this the state of the country people unable to read or do they feel that they are a special case too and it doesnt apply to them

It's the latter, I've pointed out our notice to several salespeople on my doorstep, they all say they aren't selling anything but are here to do me a favour?!!

Yes there's a RM opt scheme

    http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400126&mediaId=500081

The postman was reinstated I believe after all the customers complaints and media pressure, but having worked for RM for many years personnel I wouldn't trust them they would stab you in the back

I'm sure I read something somewhere about being able to stop Royal Mail delivering junk mail with regular post - didn't a postman get the sack for explaining to customers how to stop them delivering it?
I went to the Sorting Office to ask them to lay off delivering the junk mail, but they've taken no notice. I just re-address it now and send it back to them :D

If i get anything with an addressed envelope inside, I shove as much junk mail from other companies in it and send it back. It's surprising how much you can cram in and get rid of. Remember to scribble out any personal information that might be pre-printed .

If its got a pre-paid envelope or a return address on, I just send it back with more junk in.

IF not then I gain my tiny bit of sweet revenge by sending to:

    Freepost RRBT-ZBXB-TTTS
Royal Mail Door to Door Opt Outs
    Kingsmead House
    Oxpens Road
    OXFORD
