Life gets in the way...

  • Well, no car-booting this morning which, given the weather is probably a good thing... time to get the woollies out!

Been to do the food shopping this morning and only spent £40.88 which is good as I needed shampoo and other toiletries. Also got £5 off next weeks shop so that's helpful!

As we're not flogging our wares this morning it will be housework and a mountain of ironing to keep me busy before an afternoon swim and then cooking a roast dinner (it's tradition lol)

Been thinking back to a few months ago where I was worrying daily about debts and it was stopping me sleeping as I didn't feel in control. Then I joined up to MSE forums and it's been enlightening. I feel so much more happy now and I'm sleeping :T I can't thank fellow forum users enough for their support, tips, advice and encouragement.

So, on with the rest of the day - already September, not long until Christmas :)

  • Morning LMD.

Another lovely positive post from you. I am the same as you, feeling in control is empowering and it frees your mind for considering other things. Saying that I'm enjoying spending time thinking of ways to pay the debts off quicker.

September has certainly brought an autumn feel, though I think we are meant to get some warmer weather towards the middle of the week.

Well done on your shop, I'm going to adjust mine a bit as realised a need a few other things xx

  • Oh it would be nice if it got warmer again, especially as I'm away from Friday :)

We have had a lovely day today, popped into town and lost track of time so ended up eating lunch out, not planned spending but wasn't the end of the world!

Ironing and housework done, footy on tv and a small glass of wine makes for one happy LittleMissDetermined :)

Good luck in the new offices tomorrow EWO, I'm sure you will settle into a lunch routine that suits soon, your pasta sounds like a tasty option though x

  • Glad you've had a good day and well deserved chill time.

Like you say life's all about balance and a lunch out occasionally fits the bill.

  • Hi all

Well, Monday's come around far too quickly don't they? Although I am off from Thursday afternoon so I shouldn't really grumble :)

Making up for yesterday by having a NSD today and another one planned for tomorrow and Wednesday. This should give me a buffer for the weekend away although I have been saving for it as I have had it booked since early in the year.

Home made lunch and breakfast again, healthy option too, I can tell as my trousers are becoming looser - which on one hand is FAB but on the other hand I will need some smaller ones soon...

PAD this morning was a number of payments but total of £151.89 made :) bank account is nicely harmonised at .00 :) The big one is tomorrow with the loan payment coming out.

Still feeling very positive, whenever I feel a bit grumpy now I have a little word with myself... Very busy week/end ahead so no rest for me!

    Keep smiling :)

  • Make up is not a treat, it's like sanitary stuff, it's a neccessity :) Just kidding, there are some things that are basic human needs for me though, tut tut. Glads to hear you're still going strong! So glad to hear you're being able to sleepbetter now, I have certainly been there. You're doing so much to get out of debts and with all the support n here it makes such a huge difference. I definitely feel much better about my spending than I was a few weeks ago. Have a lovely day LMD :) And congrats on all the PADing :) it's going to keep me going!
  • Hi all

Well, another positive day today, all the orders I collected have been delivered so I will have some happy customers tomorrow!

Watched the money saving Jamie Oliver programme last night and have been inspired! Definitely need to check out the recipes as the pizzas looked lush :)

No spend day for me again today, took breakfast and lunch to work today and I have already been for a swim, dinner is being cooked by y lovely hubby whilst I spend time on here.... Can't be bad eh?

Aiming for another NSD tomorrow before the weekend away starts on Thursday afternoon...

I called my bank today to see if I am able to over pay only loan but sadly I'm not, I can only pay it off early as a lump sum, I only have 6 payments left to make so I don't see the worth in that, I'll concentrate on those pesky credit cards!

I hope you're all having a good month so far, there seems to be a real positive vibe since we started September...

I hope it continues on and on :)

  • Another home made lunch eaten and I brought breakfast in with me as well. I'm getting really good at this, and every time I think I can't be bothered to make my packed lunch I think about the unhealthy food I would buy if I didn't bring lunch... Not sure if money saving or weight loss spurs me on more! :rotfl:

I have made my obligatory PAD today - this time to Barclaycard. I think it's quite addictive and it's certainly become part of my morning routine! I'm such a creature of habit... Today is another NSD :T I won't have another for a while now but these days I am certainly having more than I used to!

This week has been really stressful at work and I'm really looking forward to a few days off and a nice weekend. It's been a long time since I had any time off from work and I can feel that a break is long overdue... It's either time off or some kind of breakdown

Hopefully I will feel lovely and refreshed come Sunday evening ready to tackle the world again!

    Stay positive peeps

  • Your PADing has become addictive, I'm the same. As addictions go - think there are far worst.

Hope you have a lovely chilled time away and enjoy your pre booked treatments xx

  • Just a quick update from me tonight, went on a wine tasting course this afternoon which has been booked in for ages... Was so much fun!

Hubby has been signed back to work whoop!

Rarely start for me tomorrow and a long drive ahead for the weekend away, spent quite a bit which I was expecting to so no surprises, still managed to PAD £50 this morning.

    Happy happy happy!
