  • Thanks Mrs S

I love swimming so it's not really like exercise but going to start using the gym too in order to push myself.

Can't wait for the lighter nights so I feel more like doing things on an evening.

I have recipes coming out of my ears, need to run some past hubby to see what he fancies :)

  • Didn't get chance for a lunchtime update today so a little catch up this evening although this is the first 'relax' I've had all day it seems. Apart from singing at the top of my voice in the car on the way home HAHA!

Gave swimming a miss tonight as I'm feeling a little off-it and don't want to do myself a mischief... I would rather miss one evening and be able to go all weekend.

Another home made lunch was thoroughly enjoyed today, I'm now onto the dregs through before shopping tomorrow evening so I will see what I can throw together... will make for an interesting lunch that's for sure! I'm determined not to buy lunch this week...:p

Work is really busy at the moment and this year is already whizzing by, looking forward to pay day already but that seems to happen every January for me!

PAD made this morning to credit card, just rounding down now until the end of the month but you know what they say; 'every little helps'!

    Keep smiling peeps :)

  • I have taken another step to debt-freedom today, back last summer I paid off my Dorothy Perkins store card and have had a zero balance since.

Today I have closed the account and destroyed my card. Although I have been proud of having a nil balance on there I think the card being available is always going to be temptation to have a splurge... No longer!

I have reconciled all of my balances and am back in focus with what needs to be done and when by. As always, life gets in the way but I am certain I can become debt free before the end of the year at the latest.

Life has been a little bit mental lately and I haven't been as focused as I should have been so I have taken stock and it's time to make sure I do what is necessary to be debt free. For the sake of my mental health!

    Onwards and upwards with positivity!

  • Well done on cutting up the storecard! I used to be so bad for that, just keeping them "just incase" and then buying unnecessary things!!

Good for you for refocusing, it must be a great feeling to know you will be Debt Free this year!!

Keep up the good work, and keep us posted!

  • Thanks Mrs S

I have gone one step further on the lunches front and I am making my own soup and baking my own bread rolls... I can be quite domesticated when I put my mind to it. :)

I made a lovely dinner for when hubby got home from work last night which he polished off before declaring "he's liking the new me":rotfl:

Honestly, I don't know how much of a compliment that is...?

I'm not sure if it's working out that much cheaper but I'm certainly getting a great sense of achievement from it so I will continue.

As the thread title states, life can get in the way so I will not be disheartened if I don't get my debts all cleared in 2014, but that is my aim and intention.

I think whilst hubby is on nights this week I will have an eBay blitz and see how much people are prepared to pay for my unwanted items!

Thanks for your words of support, it is much appreciated

  • Made more soup this evening for tomorrow, PAD made this morning of £26.07.

Feeling very positive at the moment but then you always get that niggling feeling that something's going to go wrong!

  • Ha ha, I'm sure that your hubby meant his comment as a compliment! ;)

Well done on the PAD payment, it all mounts up, I need to start PAD'ing too really.

I know what you mean about that niggle in the background, its almost like as soon as you start to relax and think, "things are going okay" something happens!
