Dreaming of my mum

The dreams I've had about my late parents have always been very positive experiences, and I'd assumed this would be the same for everyone, so I've been interested to read that it's not always the case
Just a thought, maybe when you have good dreams, it's a sign that you've come to terms with your loss?Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
my saddest one was when she said im still alive they made a mistake, and i am going to get compensation, we then skipped off hand in hand down the road together in joy.
I'm so sorry for your loss, that dream is pure hope, hoping its not true that you so want to bring mum back, it's so normal, so heartbreaking, it feels so real, you can almost feel her hand, it's so sad .0 -
My dad died 4 years ago and I have had many dreams just like the ones you describe. In some he isnt dead and everyone tells me it was all a mistake, in others we know he is dead but then he just gets on with everyday stuff in the dream and we all seem to just accept that. One of the first times I dreamt he was fixing the loo and I was desperate to go and waiting for him to finish, I kept saying 'you shouldnt even be here' and he was like 'someones got to fix the loo'! Even though it sounds weird I like having the dreams as it makes me feel close to him and more comforted than upset.0

my dream last night was i was desperate to find out if she knew what was wrong with her so i was asking my sister because she was there at the hospital. I was saying did she know, did she know she was dying and my sister had a notebook and my sister said no she didnt know.
I am thinking this in real life im wondering did they tell her, i have said to my dad did she know he said, i dont know. That was in real life? Does anyone know do they tell people when they are dying that they are dying.
She was taken to a high dependency ward on her last day. The staff must know do they tell the patients anyone know. Driving me bonkers.:footie:0 -
I lost my mom 23 years ago there is not a day goes by that I don't think about her. I have had dreams and have on occasions woke up and started to cry same can be said about my dad too he died 11 years ago. I just think it's part of the grieving process, I never remember the dream just that I am extremely sad about it when it does happen.0

Sorry for your sad loss . My mam has been gone for 24 years and I've had a few dreams where she's alive . I didn't feel comforted by them . We were very close ,I was an only child , and it took me 2 years to accept her loss . It was a horrible time . I knew in the dreams that she was dead and felt relieved that it was just a dream . I wouldn't have wished her alive to have to suffer and I couldn't go through those feelings again . I wish she could have had a longer and healthier life but it wasn't to be . Lost my dad 5 years after mam . Feelings of grief weren't so intense so when I dream of him , not often, it's not bad the next day.
How would you feel OP if you knew your mum had been told she was dying ? My mam wasn't told , as far as I know, but I believe she knew . I think a lot of people know how ill they are without having to be told .0 -

i dont know i just want to know, would it say on the notes.:footie:0 -
Red devil , it may say something on the notes . I do believe you can get in touch with the ward and ask about any aspect of care and meet with the staff . If you feel you need to know and it would settle your mind , have a think about it .0

thanks for that, i believe you can also buy the notes for £100.:footie:0
