I'm just nervous I guess as I've never had any contact with social services and I worry about the kids where they are. Going to ring in the morning and go from there as that's all I can do tbhHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

(((Hugs))) Mummroysof3. I can't imagine anyone would get much sleep in those circumstances. (I wish my cousin had asked me to look after his son (my godson) instead of letting him go into care without contacting me. It was a long time ago, but it still saddens me.) It sounds trite to say good luck but I trust you know what I mean.
Bossy, I've been thinking about you putting on your gruff DH voice, and then having to magically morph back into being mum again. And then the utter sadness of knowing that your DH's family is going through another gut-wrenching time. It seems unbearable for one family to have so much to cope with. (((Hugs)))
As for me, another one-third of the disgusting kitchen floor has been washed and various bits of flaccid food have been gobbled in an effort to clear out the fridges. Floppy pizza topped with ancient acidic goat's cheese, wrinkly yellow pepper and then smothered in pesto for dinner. I've baked a bruised windfall pear, two unripe cooking apples (breezefalls) and a slosh of very oxidised white wine with a couple of teaspoons of muscavado sugar in the still hot oven for pudding. My my I do spoil myself when OH isn't here.Better is good enough.0 -

Sorry I can't help in any way, mummyroysof3, except to say how sorry I am for you and the people involved and to send you a big hug. Hope everything works out for the best, especially for the children.0 -
Hi all , newbie here, been lurking about reading up on lots of useful stuff. Would really like to take part and become a fly lady, please? Really need to get my act together and clear this house out
aswel as joining in a few other challenges
Mummyroysof3, I just wanted to send you a big hug. It depends on circumstances, as mentioned, but ss aren't as bad as the press they get. I believe you can get help and advice from caffcass. Been through a similar thing recently where my nieces father refused to bring her home. It's awful not knowing where they are or how their feeling. Hope it works out well for you xxx52 Week Money Challenge £3/£1378

Sounds sort-of like one of those trendy menus!
Mummyroys ((hugs)) hope you and yours get through this relatively unscathed.
Been to Aldi and Sains. Got two packs of Aldi's breadsticks - they are (IMO) lush.
My bargains from Sains - I have half price pads for the Vallikids (Pukkapads - good paper apparently); Jo Wheatley's Baking Book - think it's time DD graduated from Annabel Karmel - down to £6; an academic diary (half price) for me - because the diary order at work got messed up and I am twitchy without it. Sains are selling gardening bits cheap - there wasn't much in mine but there were things for kiddies inc gardening gloves - stocking filler anyone? I have bought little plant pots to pot up more runners. And whoopsied filo pastry in the freezer.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Just popping in quick before I toddle off to bed.
Hugs, vibes, sticks & spoons as appropriate as my brain has not taken anything in
Had a productive day. Finished the majority of the back to school shop, just jumpers and shoes to buy now and both are online jobs I think. I even managed to book an opticians (friday evening) AND dentist (Wed 4th Sept is when the dentist is back) appointment...both were due last summerThere was no way I was making them back then though with DD with her broken knee, all the hospital visits and how tired I was dealing with her, especially since she still went to the summer school & had a holiday so we lost 2 weeks. I can't quite believe she goes back to year 8 in just over 2 weeks!
Anyways, tomorrow we have bus passes and we'll be doing a CS run, returning some bits to M@talan that don't fit DD, going to h0mebargains to get groceries, the bank to pay in a number of bagged coins (pity its to my work account), a recommended butchers to stock up on some meat, then off to Mr M (I have vouchers I can spend) and will probably collapse in a heap in front of the TV when we get homeLots of travelling by bus tomorrow as I want to get it all done in one day so I only have to pay for one lot of passes
Before we leave we might try to fit in some flying, but not sure we'll get much done apart from dailies. See you tomorrow :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
