Thank you kindly, Dusty. Black without, if I may.
Thanks for the heads up Valli about Sains and garden stuff. I'm hunting for cheapo melamine plates and bowls if anyone sees any reduced. The chaps are planning on doing another film next year and my nails still haven't recovered from all the washing up. I loathe paper plates, but melamine can go in the DW so commonsense dictates it'll be marked down at this time of year. It can go in the attic in the meantime. I've found some in chazza shops, and will car boot if I can get my sorry carcass into gear at the crack of o'sparrow fart, but that's not my favourite time of day. I'll drop into A1di for some of your breadstix, seeing as you have mentioned them more than once - they must be good.
Jazee, hugs and be strong vibes for all the people affected, most particularly you DS and his fiancee.
Helen Jelly, pain-relieving and healing vibes for both you and your OH, and an early surgery date vibe for everyone waiting for operations.
I'm still working on the kitchen list from Monday. *sigh* The Be11ing engineer is coming between 12 and 2, so I'm glad I cleaned the oven for him yesterday. It must be pretty horrible having to fix filthy stuff - an old bf of mine was an electrician, and he flatly refused to do vacuum cleaners. (His attitude: Other people's dirt *shudder*)Better is good enough.0 -
Love to all those in need xx
We took a day trip to Barry Island yesterday, four+ hours of driving, miles of walking and far too much food, I am pooped out today but I need to shift myself.
Write list for food shop and lose an hour of my life in Tesco
Take DS1 for big uniform and sports kit shop, try not to cry when paying (blazer alone is £50 )
Nip to pet shop for hammy wood shavings and food
Scrub kitchen with DS1 and DS2's "assistance"
Get DD and DSD to empty bedroom in preparation for painting tomorrow
Return carpet cleaner to MIL and pick up dust sheets
Boss DSS into vacuuming
And loads more but that's all I want to think about right now0 -
I am feeling super pleased with myself. I have been playing with my new toy (a steam cleaner) and just cleaned all the grouting on the kitchen floor tiles. Not sure of the result yet as it is still wet. We are now off out ds has a trial session of tae kwon do
Will start on todays list tonight.0 -
Be strong vibes to your DS and his fianc!e, Jazee.
Mummyroys, hope the phonecall this morning has a positive outcome.
Helenjelly, hope Mr Jelly gets his op very soon and that your back pain subsides as quickly as his does (the tension will aggravate it, of course). We'll be thinking of you and wishing you both well.
We were afraid that my DH was in a similar position to Mr Jelly, but yesterday he was given the all-clear - such a relief.
I woke up at 2.00 so made a cup of tea and while I was drinking it wrote half the Trustees' Report for our AGM in September, then went back to sleep until 7.45! This morning I have prepared more plums for the freezer, hung out WMx1 and sorted out my internet security: another frog gone
DH has replaced two broken floorboards in the bathroom, and today we must cover the floor with plywood as a base for the vinolay. Cutting round the quadrant shower tray will be fun - fortunately DH has a jigsaw and I have the piece of thick ply left by the plumber when he cut out the curved board on which he mounted the shower tray
Also on the to-do list:
- Finish freezing the plums, except for a punnetful to take to my friend
- Finish the report
- Move packing cases from lounge to downstairs bedroom
- Put Christmas decorations :xmastree: in the newly spruced up under-eaves storage area
:coffee: and spoons in the kitchen - please help yourselves as and when you need themespecially bonnie and LW
Congratulations to pigpen on providing such nourishing food for Little Porker - it's so satisfying to see a baby grow, isn't it?
Enjoy your new kitchen, bagpuss!0 -
Thank you for all the comments I have done all I can do ATM but the situation is making me angry. We will just have to see what happens nowHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

I have studied many school wear size charts to try to find the best trousers.
He has the height of a 9 yo and waist of a 10 yo. His trousers are always falling down or showing his pants. I think I may just order a few and keep the best fit as it is driving me mad.
Off to Mr T's soonest
Thanks for the lovely cuppa Ionafan I thought you had put up your Christmas decorations for a few seconds0 -
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah just as I though I was done with schoolwear buying DS2 has finally tried his suit on from last year and it is too small (jacket is anyhow) and discontinued. Whilst out looking at them I have missed an amazon order of some stuff we need before going to France.
WM3 just finished so that can go on the line and WM1 can come in. Floors after that and then WM4.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Nice Be11ing man has been and gone without fixing the oven because the parts he needed haven't been sent, ie one door hinge rather than a pair, and no seal. Very polite email sent to the kind gentleman at Be11ing who rather foolishly ended his last email to me '... and let me know if I can be of further assistance.' I'd like him to tighten up their systems so that they can afford to keep the call centre in the UK - at this rate it'll be abroad by Christmas.Better is good enough.0

I went out into the garden for 5 minutes to prod some more strawberry runners into little pots.
I now have a full green bin, having pruned the black currants and dug up the flag (iris I think - yellow flag?), the columbine (honeysuckle?) some pink things that were probably weeds and the aquilegia and the lilac runners. This means that that section of the border is now clear for raspberries! Research suggests that they need to go in in November; so this gives me a few weeks to make sure no more weeds sprout and to get some nutrition in. Might tootle off to Home Bargains or B&M for some cheap compost.
This means that, in the back garden, there will be a dedicated kitchen garden and all the borders, apart from the small section near the house, turned over to soft fruit (except for the little mint bed).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hi all
Valli can I have a few ickle easy jobs next week please?:o I need to get back doing my schedule, but am still in an awful lot of pain and desperately tired as I'm not sleeping at night, and as a consequence, not being very organised about anything.
Mummyroys sorry, no helpful info for you, but every posi-vibe I can muster. You must be so dreadfully worried.
Jazee strength vibes duly on their way to your DS + fiancee.
Helen jelly hoping the horse-piddle can get your DH in for his op soonest, and that the biopsy reveals the best news possible. GWS wishes for you too – back pain is the pits!
Ionafan great news that your DH got his all-clear.:T
Just noticed that kind neighbour has put our wheelie-bin (bin day today) back in it's home slot – she knows I can't move it myself, and does this every time we put it out, once it's been emptied.:A Mr LW gave her a jar of HM strawberry jam as a “thank-you” a few days back.:o
Thus far today, my green dress has been hand-washed, the yogurt maker has been deployed, and the canine princesses have been groomed – that last took an age, because they're both very fluffy (a Coton de Tulear and a Lhasa Apso) and they both play up something rotten!:D I shall finish my cup of coffee, then attempt to take them for a walk – Mr LW helped yesterday as he was wfh, but I've got to manage on my own today. Should be interesting.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
