Long term lurker would like to apply to be a fly lady with a wobble.

I have had a very nasty encounter with my cleaner and although shocked at my instant decision to sack her, it is the best thing. the cleaner had been doing a superficial clean so when my husband and I went to do some bits this morning we were very shocked and it is going to take ages to get right.

We have been walking round with our eyes shut. Im another fly lady with health problems, ongoing and can render me to my bed for days. I do get good days though so will attempt some bits then. I have 3 kids/ adults at home so they theoretically can do some but it is like they dont care about the state of the bathroom:eek:

Any how will start on Monday. This weekend I am going to sort my bedroom and ensuite and start to pack for my hospital stay next Sunday:(
Molly I'm trying to get back to some sort of proper Flying schedule (not been doing too well at Flying during this latest flare-up) so how about you and me do some QHCs (Quarter Hour Challenges) now and then, and see what we can manage without knocking ourselves into Wednesday week?:o Slow and steady my friend. Shame I'm not in better health and mobile, or I'd come and give you a hand.:o

Your cleaner reminds me of a tale Mr LW tells - his Dad employed a cleaner to help his Mum, who was poorly; apparently the woman was built like a brick [STRIKE]shi[/STRIKE] outhouse, but claimed she could only do "light dusting" because of her health. She didn't last long....

Then, ta da, Mrs Dog is going to the beach. For the first time. She's so spaced out at the moment that I think she'll probably think it's an out of body experience. I really, really hope she likes it as much as the original Honey Bear did.
Oh bless.:o I hope Mrs Dog has a lovely time at the beach.:o

Most of this morning has been taken up with giving the girls a really good groom; Patsy had some nasty tangles, but she was very good about letting me get them out. Trouble is, she tries to chew whichever grooming tool I'm not using (they've brought three various combs with them) and if I take it off her, she tries to chew my wrist splints - while I'm wearing them!!:D Pandy doesn't much care for grooming, but she hasn't as much fluff, so it's not quite so difficult to do.:o

Ooh - and we're another household where bedding doesn't get ironed. We have 100% cotton, and it seems fine if it's flapped out well after washing, and folded carefully.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hi all, with some help from DS2 we have blitzed his bedroom, even dusted on top of the wardrobe and moved his TV stand.

The advice about flying for myself and not anyone else is good, thank you. My problem is that I just cant ignore mess, it really really irritates me. I am one of those people who cant sit down and watch telly in a room thats like a bombsite. I have compromised a bit with DS1, his bedroom is not as tidy as I would like but he does make a bit of an effort and the middle of the floor is clear at least.

Welcome along Molly, I am new here and I am working on the principle that so long as I am doing more than I was before I joined then thats a step in the right direction!

I have got a week before I start my new job so I want to try and have some down time next week but at the same time I want to try and make sure I am up to date with things in the house!
  • Busy day here making sure house is nice and clean and tidy - dh's family are down for the weekend with il's and will prob pay us a visit. So house has been hoovered top to bottom, dusted, kitchen done, beds made, bathrooms had a quick wipe, and everything tidied except dreaded spare room which they have no need to go in to. Manage to find a full load for the wm and they're on the line, which has broken? Anyone got one of those extendable lines? Ours is playing up and i dont understand how??
Dh has been painting garden gate.
Busy day here really so i have just treated myself to an hours nap, and now i'm going to empty my very dead hanging baskets, they'll look better empty, oh and get rid of the dead flowers in my living room, and possibly replace with some more if mr.t has any bargains.if not the fake ones will be back in there.

Have a lovely weekend everyone x
Still here..... but working on that!

GI - good news on the job front, well done!

Today, I have done the dailies, been out with DH and DD, and done lots of washing up as DH has been prepping tea for tonight.

About to make up the dogs dinner, might walk them if it stops raining. After that, I don't know.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

I have, what is broken about it? Does it have a kink in it? Have you pulled it out completely and then let it rewind?

Washed up to try to reduce the flies, hate flies. Been for a walk around the hamlet between the showers. Need to start dinner next and read another magazine.

    Rant alert
Mr T rang to cancel my grocery order due now. They say they have had a flood, my sister lives close to the store and has had no rain :O
. They have sent me a £10 voucher but the guide price for my shopping has gone up by £9.02. I'm fuming. We now have to stay in tomorrow and wait for it (if they don't cancel again).

    Ironing done
Front lawn & old lady's cut
    Cat box washed out.

dancemum - that's not very good customer service - especially as you're only being compensated by 98p! I would draft an e-mail to customer services if I were you!

Of course the flood may be due to a pipe burst instore.... it doesn't have to be rain.

So much for the "nip" into town; remembered when we were there that DS1 needed trainers, football boots and shin pads so an hour was lost in Sports Direct :'( Treated myself to a Bobbi Brown nail polish in a deep red to match my wedding lipstick. Got belt, table place name card thingies, stockings, tights, bobby pins (I watch too many American YouTube tutorials) and a plastic side comb to try out with my wedding headpiece -- it's metal, crystals and weighs a ton, it just seems to slide out my hair if its freshly washed, but second day hair means frizz. Third day hair means a full on Afro.

Procrastinating over housework and thinking about putting my hair into Bantu knots to see if it'll control my curls a little. Can someone please kick me up the bum?!

ETA: Headpiece secured! Please excuse frizz, I'm on second day hair

dancemum.. ring the customer service number and complain.. they are usually pretty good and highly likely they will refund the £9 or will give you a £20 code/gift card.

Our Tesco Extra had to shut due to a gas leak the other week. Since it's right by the A61 it caused utter chaos.
Makes you wonder if they're using 'value' pipes;)

    FizzWhizz - consider yourself 'kicked'.

DS has had a pre-Uni cooking lesson - he requested an cheese and onion omelette for tea. Funnily anough, I ensured he has a new, non-stick frying pan coming to him. When Mum did the 'Get Tom useful stuff for Uni' for his birthday shop she spent just shy of £44; produced, with a flourish, a 10% off coupon and dicovered £50 had to be spent - well I had spotted some frying pans in the sale so we added one of those, and a spatula, to the shop, took it to £50.19 - in effect a free pan. Now I KNOW he can do the omeltee (in my limited experience of communal-kitchen cooking I am fairly certain that non-stick pans take a hammering;)

    mmm

*rubs chin* feels tired, very minor wheeze - headache 'incoming' - I think I am having an asthma attack...
