Ironing bedding???? Are you all loopy??? what on earth for? you get in, you scrat about all night and it looks like a used tissue you'd find in the bottom of your bag!!

    Mad, I tell you!!!

I can't remember when I last ironed something.. it MIGHT have been OH's shirt for his sisters wedding 3 years ago.. but then I might have made him do it himself :p

We had a bedroom rethink at the outlaws... the 2 girls are in the big bedroom together and we are going back to the tiny bed we first stayed in with the mini munchkin in with us.. I am convinced she would wake Dot if she so much as sneezes because she sleeps like a bird... so.. we shall see how we get on tonight.. So far Squeak bawled the house down that she wanted her bed in her house and Dot screamed for half an hour... Delilah is yet to bed awake for more than 2 minutes!

On with my knitting.. Done a sleeve tonight :D

  • Good evening :D

I have had a good day :) Lady came this morning, and is coming back next week to sign contracts (kerching!)

Went to the beach for a few hours with 2 mindees, DD1, DD2, DS, DH, MIL & niece & nephew. DS is a bit pink now :o and so is DH's belly :rotfl:Came home & the kids played dressing up, then I let them loose with face paints! One of the little girls I look after painted DD2's face - and neck - and arms - and knees! :rotfl:She was getting so into it, and DD2 is a good sport where it comes to face paint. Even I gave in - and DH!!

Also had some more good news on the work front. the lady that visited me at the beginning of the holidays with her baby (so cute!) has a job and starts in September so asked if I still had a vacancy :j (I do :)). this will be a full time placement, and not just term time. Some good regular money (kerching!) I am so looking forward to working with this family as they seem really nice :)

I managed to get most done that I wanted to (mainly work related), except making soup. We are camping tomorrow, so I may try to do it before we go. I also need to pop into town. Oh, and pack!!

hugs, stick & spoons to those that need them. night night all

Have just unloaded the last of the dw stuff . Kitchen is all done now (ish). I have put post its on the doors to let us know where everything is now homed :o.
I have 100% Cotton bedding. I got a quilt set from Mr T's reduced a while back. It's lovely and thick. It's horrendous to iron and looks no different ironed than it does unironed! It's been so nice this week because it's been a little too cold to only have a duvet cover on- until we switched to this one and it's been plenty.

    That's really good news, GI!

Have been fluttering around workmen again this week. The plasterer is coming today, tomorrow and Monday so I may escape into the garden for a few hours, if my shoulder will take the strain. It looks as if most of the rain has passed us by, but there's been enough overnight to soften our sandy soil. (After the heavy clay of the East Midlands, this is heaven!)

But before that, we need to have breakfast, finish moving as much furniture as possible out of the lounge (all the packing cases have gone back into the downstairs bedroom already) and roll up the carpet so that we can start stripping off the old wallpaper. However, DH is going out to a railway group meeting for most of the day....

Deco mine are a brand called Northern Nights. I bought them as a set (2 actually, with duvet cover and pillowcases) and they weren't cheap, but it was cheaper than buying individually. My mum got me them from QVC lol, but she had a code to use.

GI that's brilliant news, well done on the new signings!

Was woken by the rain at 4, wow it was running down the drive and along the street like a torrent. I did just stand and watch for 10 min. Managed to get back to sleep, though...

    Right. First stop, kettle!

    Bonjour mes amies

It is raining in France. Loving having no real flying to do but I did rearrange all the crockery/glasses in the cupboards here yesterday - OCD?

Only plans for today are not getting into the car after 2 days of driving.

    Am playing cluedo with DS!

Ha we did that last night, game was very long, DH and DS2 kept thinking they were nearly there, I could not understand how. In the end nobody won, DS3 had put 2 murderers and no room in the envelop by mistake!

(it was supposed to say 'don't drink to much red or white wine but I missed out 'pas' and I'm not sure (je suis pas certainement;)) bouvee was 'le mot juste!' If Serena was still flying we would be fine!

In my defence I did fail French o-level, twice, which is irritating because I will always have a go! DD's friend is half-French, her mum speaks in French to her and I often understand enough to get the jist - she twigged on that I did when I raised an eyebrow when she swore in French:rotfl:

I've been inflicting my O level grade E french on the natives :D got a CSE Grade 1 (back in the day of double entries) which is noway equivalent to the Grade C it was supposed to be :A
Tired and fed up tonight. Seem to have done nothing but housework this week - in between working and ferrying the kids where they want to be. OH has been off work this week and has done booger all.

OK the house looks fairly presentable, thanks to the help/motivation/kicking up the bum of the other ladies on here. But I seem to have worked really hard at it - and no-one else is interested.

Any ideas on how to motivate a husband and two teenagers into helping me with this - other than arguing with them????

Sigh. Off to finish tidying the kitchen and study. Going to tackle the kids bedrooms tomorrow as a rainy day is forecast.

Hex (not fling on here right now) and I both realised long ago that it was a waste of energy to be dsappoited in the lack of help from other famiy members (all male for both of us) and to fly for our own benefit. DH is more likely to do things if given a physical list to tick off. DS2 is quite good at noticing if the DW has finished and empting it. DS1 isa complete lost cause and DS3 will pay lipservice but avoid actually doing much.

FFP sorry to hear about your FiL, lost mine last month and kids were quite resiliant but probably not as close as your DD. Hope your DS's throat improves

GI great news on the work.

I hope you are having a lovely holiday Dusty, despite the rain. it is raining here too, and we are going camping today!

I am up, showered & hair washed (it is a very basic campsite apparently - but only £10 a night for August bank Holiday, so what do you expect!!), DW on, WM on (it will have to go in the TD) DH is walking the dog, I am starting to sort my stuff out. This is least organised I have ever been for a holiday. Probably something to do with it being about 10 miles away!! :p

DH is talking about taking all sorts of food with us. But, having recently done my level 2 food hygiene, I am a bit worried about storage. We only have a cool box, no camping fridge or anything. The last thing we need is food poisoning!! Trouble is, we have very little money, so we don't want to get ripped off in the camp shop! And eating out all the time is a definite no-no!!

And I have so much to do here! I wonder if they will notice if I sneak home occasionally? ;):o

DH is walking the dog. When he gets back I need to sort out my hair & then pop to town. I should try & make the soup now as well. Maybe I will do that now, if I can find a recipe! Tomato & basil soup anyone?

My boys live in squalor their room is a sty but it is their room so unless it climbs out into the landing I ignore it. However, if they are asked to clean something specific they will do it without nagging so they are pretty good ... Though they wouldn't notice if they were wading chest deep through a pile of detritus in every room.

    Need sleep...

Another vote for cotton sheets. White company (with money off code and cash back) and John Lewis (with family members discount card).

    Great news GI.

Family members helping. Hmmm. DH cleared the utility room yesterday (he's in the doghouse). DD1 and her BF clean up after themselves in the kitchen. DS1 will do nothing without financial reward. DS2 will unload DW/ empty bins when asked. His bedroom is a disgrace. DS3 and DD2 are getting better. After my gutting of their room they have kept the floor clear.

It's raining heavily here. No washing will be done today.
Note to self: get TD fixed.
