Can anyone answer my pizza dough/mozzarella question?

Guessing the mozzarella is fine as it's just cheese but no idea about the dough!

Don;t know Chick, maybe try a bit see how it goes. If migrating birds see it you might confuse them as to which country they in lol.

Lol! Will stick a bit out now and report back.

The sparrows had noodles and rice yesterday, so definitely have quite continental tastes ;)

Wolfed the lot down! Saw the sparrows eating the cheese but don't know who had the dough, looks like someone snaffled the lot in one go though. Have just put some more out and all the sparrows are suddenly back!

Just seen a blue tit and coal tit too on the feeders for the first time in a while.

  • We must have the wrong seeds or location - put one of those tubes up a few years ago, doesn't seem to have been touched! We have Magpies, crowa and pigeon (and seagulls) mainly!
    And two cats.

What seeds do you use? I find sunflower hearts are a real favourite. The cats may be scaring them away I guess!

Just found my old cat eating some mozzarella :o

My next project re birds is a window feeder. See there are lots of designs on google, some with the birds almost in the house, though think I shall content with something stuck on the window pane.

hope it goes well, be great to see some pics if it does!

One bird here has had a peck at the suet/mealworm block but I don't know who it was as didn't see it. Others seem to be keeping clear! The mozzarella and pizza dough is still proving very popular!

Good to see the blackbird and a robin back today, can also hear the great tits in the trees, their song is so funny I love it. I never see squirrels in our garden but they must be here as I noticed the bark has been stripped on one of our trees.

  • I have kept the flower heads from the sunflowers that I have grown this year, with the intention of using them to help feed the birds this winter

They are drying out on the windowsill at the moment - is this enough or do they need finishing off in the oven? and is it best to strip the seeds off or can I just put the whole head on the bird table?? Do they have to crushed or anything?

We live in a rural area and are lucky to get regular visits from thrushes, blackbirds, sparrows, starlings, robins, tits, wrens, magpies, finches and even pheasants :)

We also have cats, dogs, rabbits and ponies so very little food ever gets wasted here

I'd like to know that too about the sunflowers!

Sat and watched a jackdaw eating the dough yesterday, very amusing.
