I want this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaZyfsKYv7A
I bought a mealworm and suet block today and a new feeder for it, no one is going near it yet!
It always takes a while for birds to get used to new feeders. Plus there is so much natural food for them atm.Back on the trains again!0 -

Gers, I have one that visits every year - always on his own - and the neighbours & I have competitions to see who can provide the nicest food to keep him in our garden
Soon after the first visit, one of us is at the corn merchants!

He didn't half make a racket though.. courting is so vocal but lovely to see each day.
Think he's gone now. This is at a holiday cottage on a working estate so he's maybe been 'got' and in the pot!

Thanks - it's not in Newcastle (:D ) but at a holiday cottage, however I will be moving to within half a mile of this site in early 2014.
Got loads of pics of red squirrels in May this year as well as a lovely video of a squirrel running around the garden burrowing and hiding the nuts around the place, stopping to eat a couple along the way. Sheer delight.
Moving north will be so lovely!0 -
Some lovely photos on here since I last looked. I'm thrilled to bits because for the last two days we have had Goldfinches on our feeders, mainly eating the sunflower hearts, they are really pretty birds. The blue tits are coming back also, they seemed to disappear for a while, busy with their young I suppose. I am also getting lots of sparrows, the young ones sit on our fence and the parents bring them food from the feeders, lovely to watch.0
