I have to say if I were a wizz with numbers matched betting would be a doddle (but then if I were I probably wouldn't be here :rotfl:) but I am getting my head round it slowly and have so far made £70 profit from it, which is tax free :T
I also signed up to something called field agent, which is a mystery shopping app. I was working in the midlands today and got a notification on my phone to say there was some jobs on motorway service stations, which was on my way home. So for 2 minutes work which involved checking the sun news paper and times were on sale and taking a picture of the stand I got paid £5, well happy :T I'm hoping that's not a one off!
I'm finding all these new money making ideas on a site called The Money Shed, some people make amazing amounts extra online.
Ebay bids are at £41 so far and there's 20 watchers on my brooks bike saddle. I'm piling up my spending money for Greece, a week tomorrow :j
Frugal things to do tomorrow include- bank amazon cheque £175 although will take forever to clear as it's in dollars
- mystery shop at specsavers if there's one near work
- take lunch to work
- more match betting
- phone solicitors about evicting ex (again, they never rang back )
- Give notice on this place

You are busy Skinny
I had a period of doing 'arbitrage' a few years ago. Looking for profit by making a bet and betting against it at slightly differing odds.......very hard work!! Am I right to say you are just looking to profit from the freebie bets and covering your position with a second bet? If so it must be fairly easy and you've got my mind working.......!
Hope all goes well with the solicitor. I have read all your recent diary.........you must be a very kind and responsible person. Not many people would support an ex like you have

The second was that I was voted colleague of the 1/4 at work, I was stunned, never ever expected it. For that I get £100 extra in my pay this month :T and I had some lovely emails and comments at work, it's been a real moral boost. Will have to be careful though as my head won't fit out of the door soon!
Money wise it has been an interesting week. Banked my @mazon cheque £175, ebay bids at £80 with a fair few watchers ending tomorrow, £5 field agent, £5 halifax rewards, £4.11 current account interest, £39 topcashback betting signups, matched betting profit at £280 after less than a week and hoping for another £200 by the end of the weekend with bets already placed. So extra income generated for August so far is nearly £900 :eek::eek: that's the £600 paid for the holiday covered plus some spending money :T:T
It has to be said I've done little else with my spare time this week than tap away on my lap top, but it's a better option than staring at the telly or ironing!
Yes broggers, the matched betting involves taking advantage of all the sign up offers. There's a post on it here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/325861 I'm not interested in gambling what so ever, so there's zero chance of it leading down a dark road for me, but I can see if some-one was easily enticed into gambling it could be a problem. If there was a way to make money out of tasting cava though, I'd have to be seriously careful!!
I can't see it being a long term thing for me, once I've done the sign up offers, but if it pays for the holiday I'm happy. and it's actually quite funPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

OMG I just locked myself out of my house, what a divvy. My phone was in the house too. So went up to exes to use internet & phone for a locksmith. I found one who literally lives round the corner, it took him literally less than a minute to open the door, and then said that would be £80. I nearly fell of the step
When he saw my face he said, make it £70 seeing as it's a quick one. As I only had £20's we eventually settled on £60, which was nearer the mark, and I did pay him cash. I had a figure of £40-£50 in my head anyway.
If he'd come a long way or it had taken an hour or something I could have understood it, but he would have been away from the house literally 10 minutes.
I guess every-one has to make a living, and maybe that's the only call he'll get today, my frugal tightness is probably clouding my judgement!!
The annoying thing is if I'd have had my phone with me there's a few people I know who would have probably come at done it for thee price of a few pints. Note to self....- Don't leave the yale lock on you plonker

You make some really impressive overpayments each month, I can't get anywhere near that at the moment, but wait until I'm homeless.....!!
MB is complicated for me too (thought you were in financy stuff Ali?!!), and I'm sticking to the simple ones, baby steps.
Booked insurance today £24 for a years policy plus some topcash back (TCB).
Pre-airport hotel was booked using a free nights stay through hotels.com (book 10 nights get 1 free), so only had to pay the £9 tax, and got a whole 75p from TCB. Plus it has a health club so that'll keep the boys busy (and me!)
Airport parking booked, through TCB too (£6.06 don't mind if I do) and I paid for that with the ebay sales today.
So total cash outlay for hotel, parking and insurance was £33, less the TCB = £26.19
Ebay sales were £94.55 in the end, less the airport parking £61.94 leaving £32.61 over.
I'm running the freezer down now ready to move  I had in my head that I will give my notice when we get back off holiday, but actually that will be too late, so I need to give it in the next few days, that's quite scarey.
Need to start sticking stuff in boxes and moving it up to the house, and need to find somewhere cheap to put the furniture too. On the plus side, I will get my rent deposit back when I move out, I think that was £780, and that will go straight off the mortgage.
Apparently after some research the best place for euros is actually to withdraw from an ATM using my Halifax clarity CREDIT  card, there is small interest charge, but it still works out better value as they offer such a good exchange rate. So I'm only going to take a small amount of cash with me and then with draw the rest when I'm there.
I'm going to put the money in my current account, and just transfer it over as I withdraw it out, to minimize the interest.
Busy day tomorrow, cycling in the morning and the meeting some friends for a picnic later on. Need to get up early and get some other stuff done though so off to bed now, sleep well all xxPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Good day today, 18 miles biked, and met up with some friends in town for a game of bowls with sticks (called khub or something).
I haven't been very good at keeping track of what I'm spending have I??:o
MB is a bit scarey and stressful so I'm going to stop until after my holidays after these current bets have finished. I've definitely made some money, but not even sure how much until I get everything back in my account and have a count up. then I might carry on but just a couple a week.
Have done loads on my to do list, but still a few to complete, and I definitely need to do 2 videos before my hols.
Have applied for a Virgin Money credit card, only to get the free case of wine. I'm happy that I can control my spending enough just to do these sign up offer of £1000 in 60 days (its a pity I didn't sign up a month ago and pay for the holiday with it!) I'm hoping there'll be lots of red wine that I can use as xmas (sshhh) presents, if it's white whine I'll just drink it all!!
I've also been accepted for a TSB account, you get 5% interest on balances up to £2000.
Not sure it'll be doing my credit rating much good apply for these things, but then I don't actually intend applying for any important credit in the near future, we'll see what Noddle says next month.
So that's the week over, another one full of opportunities awaits!Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Here we are, in an airport hotel, Zante bound first thing in the morning... :j
This is the first hotel I've ever actually stayed at where you've had to use the gym, what a rip off! I declined but the boys have gone for a gym and swim while I catch up with some work and my diary.
My MB experiment is drawing to a close, I am tentatively excited, as I think I've made around £700 profit, which is 10 days is quite astounding. I need to wait until all the cash has come back into my account to reconcile it tough. When I get back I will continue it slowly, to be doing as much as I have done is too stressful and tiring!
Well, I'll say byebye now, no doubt when I next log on I'll have spent far to much and drunk far to much alcohol. _party_Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022
