Good to read your update and that sleep has come..albeit in a tent
Isn't it easy to drop little things that we did in the debt-busting days...then realise we need to keep doing those to stay money-efficient.
Weekend sounded fab, excepting the mud . Laughter Yoga sounds intriguing - good to jump on a new trend early and see if it can turn a profit.
First time in a long time diesel has been cheaper than petrol - a good saving for you there.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Thanks Ali, a lovely summary of the weekend!
Today's spends were £36.41, shopping, posting DDs new bank card to Greece a mediation class. Very chilled now so off to bed :APay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Spends today are £44.72 includes fuel, milk, cup of tea and meditation app brings this month £81.13 (and it's not even August yet ).
Spoke to ex yesterday, he's no intention of moving out as the end of next month and is going to sit it out until I evict him and the council rehouse him. I could really do without the stress  However I have a plan, I am going to go to a solicitor and get it done properly, as I don't know what I'm doing and will probably mess it up, I'm hoping that he will contribute if not pay the whole cost although I haven't asked him yet.
The second half of my plan is that I am going to give my notice and move out of this place in September, DS can go and live in my house with his Dad for a while, I'm going to put my possessions in storage and crash with a mate or find a house share for the 4-5 months it's going to take to evict him. I reckon I will save £2000+, more if I find somewhere close to workIs that a mad plan??
I appear to have lost my bank card, I had it at the fuel pumps today, which were out of order so I had to go back later and then couldn't find my card. I'll have to see if I maybe left it in the pump and it's been handed in, or cancel it and order a new one.
Car due for a service tomorrow, all included in the hire agreement, so free, and it gets a valet too :T

Sorry about my rinse and repeat last post :rotfl:
I LOVE 'free' car servicing - one of those costs that can't be budgeted as never know what they'll find otherwise - hopefully nothing anyway with your car still being quite new.
Hope EE comes along on the eviction ex side of things, I don't know enough to offer any useful words on it.
I think you'd have a ball moving in with a mate, you strike me as the very sociable type, whereas I need peace/quiet/space and couldn't house-share even if someone paid me :rotfl:. I'm guessing storage costs aren't too expensive?
Hope your bank cards turn up. I've a good way not to use mine - forgotten the pin number :rotfl: I'd better order a new one as need cash for my 'pin money' for next month on FridayBack on the DFW Wagon:

Hi Skinny,
I'm the same as Ali.....I need the space. It sounds like a great money saving idea though - you could stick it in ur pension :rotfl:!!
Whilst a solicitor costs money, it's got to make sense hasn't it? It surely can't be a huge job for them and not overly expensive?
Don't forget to get your bank card sorted out!!

Although with the tax relief £2000 in my pension is actually £2800 (I think that's how it works any way??!)
I'm sort of used to living out of a suitcase any way, I have 2 friends and my brother all with spare rooms who would put me up for a while, I could just alternate in between traveling with work, I don't know why I didn't think of it before!!
The car was fine Ali, no issues, although they only washed the outside, no valet inside:(:( I never found the bank card, so it's been reported missing, and await a replacement. No doubt I'll find it somewhere really obvious tomorrow
A NSD today and there's no reason why tomorrow can't be one either, ooo and the Satnav is on Facebook :TPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Hey guess what the first thing I found this morning was.......yes my bank card, I'm not even going to tell you where it was, what a dope :rotfl:
Not a NSD today, I spend 80p on some tortilla wraps and £2 on a stainless steel mixing bowl, because you can just never have enough mixing bowls can you, especially when they are shiny stainless steel and in the sale
Went on a ladies bike ride this evening, 21 miles via the pub, but a fair few hills, and now I'm just beyond tired, so goodnight all xxPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Hi Skinny
Sorry I haven't managed to get on, life has got in the way again!!
I am still concerned that your ex thinks the council will rehouse him, unless you live in a very rural area most councils have a huge waiting list for 1 bedroom properties.
Not sure how your local council works but in most areas of the country there is a website that you have to join and people have to register and then they show interest in properties they would like to live in and the top person (longest on the list, highest priority) gets the property.
Anyway enough about your ex because we are here to support you.
The court forms are very easy to complete - it's all done online now https://www.gov.uk/possession-claim-online-recover-property
The cost is £250 which you will have to pay and then try to reclaim.
Once you get a hearing - usually 4-6 weeks - you get to see a judge and he will make an outright possession order for you to have your property back in 14 or 28 days (depends if you go for accelerated or standard possession).
After the 14 or 28 days has expired your ex should leave, if he doesn't you then have to instruct bailiffs to remove him. This will obviously cost money and will take a few weeks.
If you are not comfortable doing this then I agree you should speak to a solicitor and pay them to do this if it will give you peace of mind.
Or if you just need a little guidance you could use the forum on landlordzone - http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/
Fingers crossed you get this sorted asap.0 -
Agree with EE under homelessness legislation I doubt your husband would be considered priority need, so there would be no obligation on the council to do more than offer advice. If your son will still be under 18 and living with him then that coul change the situation. In any event your husband should register for the local equivilant of home choice . Most councils have an online bidding and register system , get him to have a look on his local councils website . He can then see what the chances of being rehoused in the public sector really are.0

I'm sure you're both right. He retired this week and is 68, so I don't know if that'll make any difference. Yes DS is 16, but I'm not evicting him!
And the end of the day it's his problem to find somewhere, and not my responsibility, we've been divorced 13 years, although I appreciate he's in a difficult position so I'm not going to make life more difficult, he's the father of my kids and a good one. He has also worked full time since he was 14 and has never claimed a penny in benefits. All he wants is affordable housing, he's not asking for handouts. Makes my blood boil when I see these programs about youngsters perfectly capable of working, but just living on tax payers money, don't get me started
Although I will be effectively making my self homeless while he lives in my house, but it suits me to do that if I can make a bit extra £££! Quite looking forward to it in a strange way actually!
I'm looking after my friends dog all weekend, good timing as DS is away so it's a bit of company, albeit a smelly one :rotfl:
DD sent me pictures last night of some very nasty sores that have appeared on her skin, I said get to a medical centre straight away, which she's done and apparently its a staph infection, she's got antibiotics and can't drink for a week. I said its her bodies way of telling her to look after it properly, lets hope she does. She has also to find somewhere else to live today, thank fully she still has her job. Our trip out there a week Thursday is non to soon, in fact I wish it was this thursday, or today, I need to make sure she's ok.
DS is working like a mad thing, labouring all week, prepping for the chef in the pub today and then waitering at a wedding tonight. He's also applied to be a volunteer for fire and rescue as he has to do some voluntary work as part of his college course. I don't think I could get any prouder at the moment!
Well the house won't clean it's self, and my to do list won't tick itself have a good one xPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022
