I had instructions to post on a Saturday afternoon once and I posted the item before the last collection (12.00)
It seemed to make more sense that way0 -

I agree with the above. I don't understand why TNS have after 1pm postings on Saturdays. The last Saturday collections for my local postboxes are 11:30 am to 12pm.
becase how else would you know if the item was being collected late?0 -
Just had email to say that we will be receiving extra lovetoshop vouchers for posting parcels ( which we will have do do more frequently). Also sounds like we will have to pay cash to post some of the parcels and be reimbursed with a voucher in the sending pack to cover the cost. Extra prize draw type incentive too.0

Well I signed up.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

I do not mind I do not send too many letters, so can wait till Christmas. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
I have always understood that if the collection time (especially relevant on a Saturday for me) is earlier than the time given on your schedule, you should post before that collection time & ignore the schedule.anamenottaken wrote: »If, instead of the last collection actually being at 1 pm, the item was collected after you posted it (because they collected later than expected), then it would have "hit the network early" (that is in the sorting office earlier than expected given the posting time). I'm not saying that is what happened, just that that is the possibility custardy was suggesting.Saturdays are regular days through the year whereas NYE is a one-off day and less likely for posters to know that last collections are brought forward (presumably to the Saturday schedule).0

December 31 was a Tuesday and last post box collections should have been 5.45pm. However Royal Mail must have "allowed" the last post box collection to be before 1pm, as it was New Years' Eve. The item was therefore not collected until 2nd January.
As explained above.
I posted the item after 2pm on NYE, so it would not have been collected and thus hit the network until 2nd January. I had no knowledge of collections stopping early on NYE.
Once more.
You were instructed to post after 1pm
If the last collection scheduled for that day was 1pm.
then it isnt expected into the system until the 2nd
If i arrives early, they know the box was cleared late0 -
Well I've received a packet through today which felt a lot! slimmer than usual, whoever sent it was clearly desperately short of printer paper & nabbed the entire chunk of sheets that goes in the packets to thicken them out over the little cardboard piece lol- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps0 -

In the past I've received a couple of packs like that too. It's as though they don't understand that the paper is there for a reason other than to feed their printer or their children's need for a canvas for their artwork.0
