I got a diary today too - on the website in the news section it states that along with the diary we should have received another book of 12 stamps? Anyone got these? I just got the diary but am still happy with this it is pretty good quality for a freebie.

Just rechecked the envelope it came in and no stamps. The compliments slip doesn't mention them either so I assume they were just for people who are active on the panel at the moment.

I was resting too last year and have just received my first training pack again. I'll email them about the diary. Thanks for all your replies.

Just had a really stupid query from RM. I had an item to post in post box on 31 December after 1pm, which I posted after 2pm. Their query was that the last collection was before 1pm that day (instead of 6pm) was I sure I had posted the letter after 2pm? Why didn't they look at the posting schedule instead of asking me stupid questions?

Perhaps because the item hit the network earlier than expected
eg the collection as done late.
I would be more worried if it was RM asking you.

Custardy I think you have misunderstood. The item didn't hit the network early, it was late according to them because the last post box collection on 31 December was before 1pm.
But my posting schedule said don't post until after 1pm; so the item was never going to be collected on 31 December! Hope that is clearer.

I have always understood that if the collection time (especially relevant on a Saturday for me) is earlier than the time given on your schedule, you should post before that collection time & ignore the schedule.

It is very irritating that they give posting times which are later than the actual collection times but it just seems to be another part of the bad organisation at TNS.

If, instead of the last collection actually being at 1 pm, the item was collected after you posted it (because they collected later than expected), then it would have "hit the network early" (that is in the sorting office earlier than expected given the posting time). I'm not saying that is what happened, just that that is the possibility custardy was suggesting.

With the TNS schedules, you may well find that on Saturdays it will say to post "after 1 pm but before final collection". No box I know has a scheduled collection after 1 pm on a Saturday (in fact more like noon or 12.45 pm) and therefore items should be posted before whatever the scheduled last collection is as it is more important to meet the "before final collection" criterion. Saturdays are regular days through the year whereas NYE is a one-off day and less likely for posters to know that last collections are brought forward (presumably to the Saturday schedule).

    Hi

I agree with the above. I don't understand why TNS have after 1pm postings on Saturdays. The last Saturday collections for my local postboxes are 11:30 am to 12pm.
