  • In my latest posting schedule I have an item to post on a Saturday after midday. My local box's last collection is 11.30am on a Saturday. I presume I have to go looking for a box that has a last collection time later than 12 but still on the Saturday? Could be tricky.

Generally near or at post offices.

Just put it in your local post box after 1130hrs, then enter 'posted after the last collection' on the TNS website with your correct time of posting.

I have done this loads of times for Saturday postings. Never been to another post box for Saturday postings.

I am lucky and have a sorting office in the town with a box outside with a later collection. However, if I am not going into town, I post before 11.30 am at my local box but ensure I enter the actual time posted when I enter the details. Have never had problems - just ensure you enter correct details.
  • Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll just post in my local box after midday and enter that. It's difficult to understand what they are trying to measure sometimes.

I've got one like that too and I had no doubts about posting it.

It will go in the box in the afternoon after the last collection of the day at 12.00. They may be checking that the collection isn't done a lot later on a Saturday for some reason.
  • Makes sense. I think I had it in my head that if it is to be posted that day, it should be collected that day. It sounds like that isn't the case.

If I get a Saturday item to be posted after last collection time then I post it before last collection on the correct day - this is what the training instructions tell you to do. All items should be posted before last collection on the day in question (or held over until the same day the following week if this is not possible for some reason). The time is not that important - posting on the correct day of the week before last collection is what is important, at least that is what TNS told me when I asked them about it.

    Quote from website FAQs:

When do I post my test items?
Please try to post your items during the time period suggested on your Posting Schedule. If this is not possible, please ensure you post your items before the last collection time.

The schedule has asked me to post at a time I cannot make. What do I do?
You may post the item at a different time, as long as survey items are posted on the correct date and before the final collection.
If you cannot make the day of posting, please post the item the same day the following week before the final collection. Please ensure that you update the system with the amended time of posting.

  • Er no....I have done this for several years. As long as you tell TNS when you have posted the item, they are okay. Don't let TNS control your life and just post items when are convenient for you. If it says before last collection, post it at time after last collection that is good for you. If you can't post on the day required, just wait for the same day the following week.

In real terms you arent posting on the required day by this logic.
