Royal Mail Surveys rewarded with Stamps.

Nothing to do with whinging.
This is sometimes the case.
Occasionally they actually want to collect and presumably examine the unaddressed mail to record the various types of flyers, leaflets, documents, free samples, newspapers etc. and perhaps even determine their origins or whatever for statistical analysis.
The online recording only captures quantities against a period or date.
When I did this the entire cost to me of attaching a provided pre-printed sticky date label to each item, saving them in a prepaid returns envelope and popping them in the post could not have exceeded 5 minutes of my time for the entire survey, and financially was absolutely zero.
I'm happy to do this 52 weeks of the year if they want me to.
My only complaint about sending the stuff back is that sometimes I want to keep something for future reference.0 -
Not only are TNS sending me a diary but they are sending me Xmas stamps for each year that I have been doing the survey.0

Thank you for your email.

We have changed the policy, now so that only active panelists receive a Christmas diary. As you have been undertaking the survey for many years and we greatly appreciate your efforts on the survey, on this occasion we will be happy to order you a 2016 diary. You should receive the item within 7 working days.0 -

Presumably IF it was that important (to you) you could obtain a second copy from one of your neighbours, since they are all likely to have exactly the same unaddressed mail as yourself and a very reasonable chance they all don't want to hang on to it.
I've had many extra leaflets from mine that have had discount coupons and offers that I can use for products that we use when they have no interest in them.
You don't have to explain about sending them off for a mail survey
Just say you've discarded it and wished you hadn't for whatever the reason is that you don't want to send it to TNS

I would never disturb my neighbours by knocking on their doors to ask for their junk mail, but maybe that's just me, or where I live.
My problems with the whole sending stuff back thing are that yes, I might want the item I'm posting back, I've now got another polythene bag kicking around, and it's an extra step that I wasn't expecting. I clearly said I was just having a whinge and not that it was the end of the world or anything, but just like when your favourite item at the supermarket goes up by 5p, even though it's inconsequential really, it still niggles.
I really don't understand all the royal mail survey cheerleading that goes on in this thread, but to each their own.Comper and general cheapskate0 -
