Agree - that's how I'd interpret the guideline quoted previously -

"Unaddressed mail is any item delivered that does not have an address on it. This could be delivered by Royal Mail or other mail delivery companies. Unaddressed mail could be delivered any at time of the day. Examples include takeaway menus, promotional literature, "to the occupier" letters with no specific address etc. "
  • I take it to mean all leaflets, how do you know which company has contracted the person to deliver a leaflet?

Just because the guy looks Greek and is delivering a Greek takeaway menu doesn't mean he isn't employed by a mailing company to deliver that menu for the takeaway.

  • I am supposed to post a few items this week including today.

Trouble is TNS have not sent me anything to post.

Contacted them to get it sorted.

Has this happened to anyone else ?

Thankfully I should be off the survey in a few weeks as my 6 months will be up.

... Again I would be concerned that my postie could be in trouble for delivering more items that RM aren't being paid for, and RM deliveries are what we're being asked to survey after all.

They want to know about everything that is being delivered that is not addressed to anyone - it may be a RM survey, but for this particular exercise, they want to know about absolutely everything.

Why would the royal mail want to know that the local kebab shop owner pushed yet another menu through your door?

Who knows?! :p But the fact is for some reason, they do want to know!

Just to help maybe clarify things, I have done I'm sure 20 of the unaddressed surveys throughout my time and out of those, I have have to do maybe 5 where I have had to put in a bit more work - for those 5, I have had to not only record number of unaddressed items I have received, but I have had to save each item, put a reference number on each one, and then post all of the items in provided envelopes to TNS at the end of each week that I had been participating. In doing that, I have sent to TNS many items like menus, charity collection labels, local papers, slimming clubs leaflets. Not once have they come back and said that these are not required or not correct.

Yeah, I've had posting packs arrive late. When it turns up, you will just have to post the items on the same days next week which have been missed this week.

Because its a large competitive sector.
The undressed survey lets then know how much of it they have and how much is still out there to get.

Received a padded jiffy today. Inside was the card insert flattened, a SMART and the R sheet. No sheets of paper to bulk it out.
