Would agree - I received this week the bits allegedly to assemble a DVD box , and was sent the incorrect insert and the wrong set of instructions on how to assemble it. You can only do best endeavours in these situations0 -
I have been on the panel since 2008/2009 and have never put anything into the cardboard insert, although I do put everything into the envelope. I seem to remember, a couple of years ago that there was a memo saying not to put anything into the insert in case it was accidentally thrown away.0

I have to agree that there's never been any instruction that says to fold the paper inside the cardboard insert, I do this too but only after reading on here.
Some might be concerned that they make it too thick and then postage would be wrong.
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Difficult to make it more than 6 inches thick (16cm)
To make the postage wrong you would have to make it bigger than the CUBE (16cmx16cmx16cm) in ALL 3 Dimensions
eg 17cmx17cmx17cm - then it's a MEDIUM parcel and NOT a SMALL one

They suggest not putting the SMART inside the cardboard insert in such a way that it might not be found by the recipient and could be accidentally discarded.

So why bother posting items on the right date and at the correct time of day, or bother telling the truth as to which Post Office or Postbox you've actually used and when exactly, when any old information would do?

Possibly, I have never received any post with paper folded and placed into the cardboard insert in the time I have been on the panel though! nor have I ever sent any that way.0
-
When I have had a jiffy bag to post APL I have never been asked for less postage so obviously it is large enough without padding out the cardboard with folded paper to increae the size of the cardboard sleeve.0

Can someone give me the email address to the Royal Mail monitoring site please.0

Another one here who's never received a jiffy with anything done to bulk it up, or bulked it up myself. I do wiggle the insert so it's rather more rigidly the shape.
I always put them in the postbox (along with DVD boxes), and both sizes also fit through my standard letterbox just fine.Comper and general cheapskate0
