...and there's nothing wrong or misleading about that...you are posting on the day required before the specified time...but where I live we only have a bin collection every 2 weeks so it would be unlikely that my postal requirement to the panel would only fall on the same day every 2 weeks!!!

Hi everyone, I've just re-joined the survey again. It's been a couple of years since I was last on the panel. I've noticed that Royal Mail have changed many of the last posting times on bog standard Post Boxes in ordinary residential roads. Around me, the last posting time for each day is 9am!!! Apart from being ridiculous, if I am unable to post that early, surely it would be acceptable to put an item in the Post Box the day before (knowing it's not going anywhere) even though this will conflict with the date shown on my posting schedule? Is anyone else having this problem? Otherwise, I will just have to post all my items from the Post Box outside the sub- Post Office near me which still gets emptied around 4pm and surely defeats the point.

Also, do we just get 2 books of 1st class stamps now? Last time, I got a big presentation pack of stamps as well.

They recently sent out a news sheet re this.

    You will find that items will now need to be posted witin two timebands;
    Before Midday and After Midday

Please post within the time bands as requested on your postal schedule and complete the posting information online as normal.

Please post your items before the Last Collection Time indicated on the post box. We are aware that in some instances it is not possible for you to post before Last Collection Time , in which case please post according to the instruction on the posting schedule.

If you are unable to post within the scheduled time band, please hold the item until the same day in the following week. Please ensure that the correct date of posting is entered when you go online. .

So if you still post even if it is after past collection time.

The last collection time for my local box is 11 am, so if the schedule states 'after midday' then the item will be posted after the last collection time as instructed above.

I got a presentation pack when I started but that was 18 months ago.

Also got a set at Christmas.

I am in the process of buying a new house that is in a totally different postcode area :( Am I best to tell them sooner rather than later? Is it likely that I will be kicked off the survey?? :(

it could be that TNS have sent another one in the post to you. as it will show up in your account before it arrives.. i got that several times and would hunt the house for it.

This is exactly what happened. I was clearly too eager to check my smarts lol

    Thanks again

If where you are moving to is in a different postcode area you will need to re apply to be on the panel.

I am unsure if they will automatically swap you across or you will need to wait for a space in the new area to become available.

If possible I would suggest you give them 4 weeks notice of your move to allow for postal schedules to be amended to avoid or at least cut down the possibility of panel post going to your old house after you have moved

Just wondering what to do with all the stamps, I think I've used one in the past five months lol

I use the standard 1st class for postcard competition entries and have sold most of the large 1st on eBay - they go for between 2.70 and 3.20 (which is less than face value but still a profit to me).
I need to think of something new here...

All I can say is that I moved about 15 months ago (within the same postal area) and when I contacted them with my new address I received a reply saying that I would have to be removed from the panel but could reapply. It took about 7 months before I was reinstated to the panel and in fact I've just been rested after a 6 month stint. I would suspect that things haven't changed and you will have to reapply.

I edited this post at the behest of LEJC (whom I was unaware is a moderator or spokesperson for this thread) who insinuated that I was compromising the whole survey by having asked someone the address. I feel sure as Royal Mail commissioned the survey they are aware of the address. If my post for a little help has upset anyone I apologise, in future I will go elsewhere for assistance.

    Thank you kindly tomvox.

Thanks badlass for removing the details...

Just so everyone is aware I am not a moderator or spokesperson...nor have I ever claimed to be.
I sent the following PM to Badlass and another user

perhaps I could ask you to remove or at least modify your recent post on this thread.
Where post is sent to and received from should remain confidential and as such by publishing the full details of the address of the panel you are openly publishing details which are not only seen by fellow panelists but royal mail workers and you are compromising the position of the panel

I do feel that quoting the full address of the panel may have been inappropriate, although I do concede that it's easily done given the fact that this is by no means a closed forum just read by a select few....its easy to forget that you are not just "chatting amongst a few"

The message was sent via a PM purely as to not draw too much attention to the thread and to ensure that the relevant posters saw the potential and removed or edited their posts.
It is worth a general reminder to all that the details of where you send and whom you receive from should remain confidential ....
I am sorry that Badlass may feel that I have in some way singled her out hence my posting the details here for all to see.

The thread is here to help and often answers can be obtained far quicker here than by waiting for email clarification or indeed reading the FaQ section.

Panellists who have been identified by royal mail staff often through no fault of theirs are removed from the panel....
To both posters I sent the PM to,thank you for taking note and amending/deleting as appropriate

I hope that's cleared the air....
