I seem to have been receiving a considerable amount of mail from other posters, all including Smarts. My collection's built up, but looks like some will have to be returned this weekend.

I've noticed that nearly every letter I recieve in the last couple of weeks have had smarts and for last few weeks posting I've had smarts for everyone, reckon theres some big gaps along the line! x

  • OMG After being in training three times since May and being laid off each time, then being given a short term live of 8 weeks where some body had dropped out, then being laid off, I am now BACK IN TRAINING!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!:rotfl:

Sorry for the shouting but I think it merits it:rotfl:

Wow. I think that is the worst experience anyone has reported on here.

Hope the "shouting" has relieved your frustration.

I have been taken off the panel again due to oversubscription after 3 out of 4 weeks training:(:rotfl:

Probably be back on again for another period of training soon, how hard to they think it is for me to need this much training after being a panalist for about 3 years prior to my 1st layoff!

Not the best idea in the world. Not to be recommended under any circumstances.

Oh dear - I suppose you could look at the bright side that you have received stamps for very little effort and you are not having to deal with sending boxes and all the other problems which seem to occur more often nowadays.

I can't believe that the staff can be happy with the supposed 6 month on/off method. I am sure life was a lot easier for them when us old regulars were doing it all the time.
  • Hubby took our first parcel to the post office yesterday. I had briefed him on the secrecy bit and told him to turn down anything he might be offered - signed for, etc. Told him just play the dumb husband and just say things like'the wife told me to do it like this, etc

Anyway, the only question he was asked was - was the box the right size??? which totally threw him. She took it away and presumably measured it then said it was ok.

    Dear 3010,

Until now, in order to register a Post Office that you use to post items over the counter, we have asked that you register the Postbox outside the Post Office. On the morning of Monday, 30 September 2013, we are updating our system to allow you to search for and register the Post Office itself. We would be grateful if you could do this as soon as possible following the update.

When prompted, enter the street name of the Post Office you wish to use. If you are unable to find the correct Post Office, please email us at postalsurvey@tns-ri.co.uk with the address, and we will register the Post Office for you.

In addition, when preparing an item, you might see an additional page encouraging you to include a SMART in the item. It is important that SMARTs are included in items, so that if that item should fail its delivery target, we are able to see precisely where in Royal Mail’s pipeline the problem occurred.

    Kind regards,

    Postal Survey Team

Me too, though still no reply as to whether the post box outside a post office that has closed down and is now a residence counts as a post office posting point. It is listed as a post office box when I put the code in. Anyone had a similar query that actually got answered?
