Quite! Unless I have to hand it over the counter I use the box outside our nearest "post office" - which was closed down several years ago and is now a regular house. The post box identification code still lists it as a post office, and when I emailed to ask if this was okay I was told that "as long as you record where you post an item, regardless of the instruction, it will be okay." I always bear this in mind whenever I need to post something, and as such, if it's raining or I'm pushed for time, and it's supposed to go to the "post office" box, then I just bung it in the nearest box and tell them that.
In other news, I was just entering details for a magazine I received last week, and getting some unusual questions. There was a question where it said the item should have contained a smart and to check, though they never asked if it had contained a smart (and it doesn't, obviously, because it's a magazine), though they let me just 'next' past it. Only to then move to a question asking if it was delivered in 1st or 2nd post... I have no idea what they mean by that... Are they asking if it was 1st or 2nd class, or asking if the postie came straight to my door or did the round as normal or what? Thankfully there was a 'don't know' option there. TNS never fail to confuse the issue.
There used to be two mail deliveries - one in the morning was 1 st post and one later, 2nd post.
I think 2nd post deliveries have stopped now.0 -
I had the same experience as Pomdren with regards the magazine and Smart issue - totally confusing.
This week I had only one item to post and online it said it needed a Smart. I waited for a Smart to arrive - none did so I held on to it but when I clicked through the schedule for that item it said " No Smart need be included " - too late to catch the post but why did it not say that in the first place ?0 -

my postbox that is less then a minute from my door is collected by the same postman that collects from the post office over 30 mins walk. as im slightly disabled. so i use the postbox..
but
our postbox has one of those stickers that say last collection is 9am. but i still see it being collected at 5:30pm so that sticker is useless.
but as tns stated to stick to original last collection time and not the sticker time so im fine either way.0 -
I started back on the pAnel last week a month after finishing up the previous spell.
Did you re apply to get back on or did they send for you automatically ?
normally you will receive an email inviting you back....there is no need to reapply....I belive when space becomes available in a postcode area they will contact previous panelists to see if they are interested in rejoining.
If you happen to live in an area where not many panelists are registered you may be invited back quicker than the 6 month usual wait.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Its wrong though - I posted at a box with one of these stickers last week and I knew I was posting later than 7am and recorded the item accordingly. TNS queried it as it turned out the post from that box was collected at 11.48am that day, which was the correct final collection time for this box before the stickers appeared. Glad I'm finished with the survey in two weeks, hopefully the changing collection times will be stabilised before I rejoin again in April next year.2020 Wins:
