Medium parcel question folks. It says on the posting schedule that it should be sent first class at £5.65 and I was sent £6 to cover the cost, but when I got to the post office and asked for first class they only charged me £3.20.
Have I made a mistake and should I have asked for something other than first class?
This happened to me too. The box is so light and the size is probably quite difficult to gauge just by looking at it (compared to a small). I contacted TNS to let them know as this was obviously going to cause a discrepancy when it was entered by the receiver but they seem to have missed the point and told me that I should buy the apl from the counter not a self service machine. So it seems I've been blamed for the PO's mistake. I guess honesty is not always the best policy.0 -
Well there's a new one. Got a letter this morning complete with a Smart, so I entered into the system, but on the page where it asks if you received a Smart, the box to enter the Smart code was missing. Now on my list of Smarts, I've got one listed with no code! I'll have to give them a ring on Monday morning - presumably its just a problem with the website.0

Why don't you email them again and ask them to re-read your original email and point out that the error was made by the PO staff and not you?0 -
(and no, don't go the counter with anything unless it won't fit in the box or needs stamps/postage bought)
I started doing the survey in May and I thought that if it states to take something into the PO then that is what you should do...? Or am I wrong? Why not just say to put in the post box then? I'm confused..... :huh:0 -
Having said that my local post box is right outside the post office, maybe that's why I thought to do that instead.....0

If it needs to be posted at the PO and fits in the slot of the postbox outside, then post it in thr box outside...
If its too large for the box slot ie a cube hand it over at the PO counter and log accordinglyfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Anyone still waiting for their incentive for posting cubes, etc in May, I have just been told they are currently being sent out and should arrive shortly.0

Or as instructed by the survey company - see their website.
[I hope this exchange is incorporated in the main thread with this title.]
If everyone keeps saying "Sample of Foam" then the post office staff are going to get wise to it ( especially if the post office is small, like mine, and the same people staff it every day )
My approach is to say it's something I've sold on eBay .... and then rotate through a random sample of things it could be if asked .... ornament, bit of pottery, childs toy .... no end of things you can use as long as the item you pick isn't too heavy .... i.e. don't say "bowling ball" !!!0 -

Hi
My local Post Office is a sub Post Office but I doubt the staff will 'get wise' as I don't use it every day and even If I did, I don't think they'd be bothered.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -

I use a local village shop which is a rural sub post office. They only ask me to cofirm that there is nothing prohibited in it, which is what the staff should be doing as confirmed by their head office. Just as well as everybody knows everybody and their business.
The main post office in town do ask what is in it.0
