I am back on the panel for the 3rd time and am currently in training.
I have got a letter to post today that needs a Smart. I should have posted it last week but was unable to as I was away during the Easter break.
Unfortunately, I do not have a Smart in my possession. I may get something today in the post with a Smart but, in the event that I don't, could someone please advise me what to do ?
I think that I'm okay and expected to post the letter next week on Thursday 15/5. Am I correct ?
Thanks0 -
I found out today that my local sub postoffice which is combined with a shop has a counter which is open from 7 am in the morning and also open Sat pm and Sunday mornings. It won't do car tax etc but is fine for sending cubes. All part of the new regime according to the rather unimpressed and soon to be retired postmaster.
It's handy to know and will save me a lot of hassle, but it's not a particularly well advertised service. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else wants to check with theirs. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

From the beginning of training, which was many weeks ago, I have consistently been behind by one smart. I kept following the guidelines to wait until one arrived and post it a week later, but I never received enough smarts to actually catch up. I eventually gave up yesterday and posted an item without a smart, updating it online so it no longer required a smart. I figured it better to bodge a training item than wait around for the real items in the hope that they'd ever send me enough smarts to keep up.
Personally since you've already waited a week to post this item I feel it unlikely you'll be sent a smart for it that doesn't then leave you waiting for a smart for another item, so I would save myself the hassle of having this item hanging around for another week, and just post it without the smart.0 -

I didn't have enough training smarts to post all my re-training items so I've had to hang on to one item. But I've still passed the re-training! :rotfl:0 -

There's one near me that's open 8AM- 8PM, 7 days a week.0 -

I wonder whether they actually know who is sending in which envelope to the West Brom address. All they may be checking is that you can use the system to record what you are sending them.0 -

When they all had R0000 on them they couldn't as even the barcodes on the R-labels were the same.
If they have started assigning random R-numbers then they probably can.0 -

I thought the barcodes looked different on different week's items, despite all being R0000. Can't check it now though, cos I'm up to date for the first time!0 -

Possibly although i once worked for a company participating in this survey and we had to scan the barcodes of received items, they literally read R#### so i would assume that all the R0000 ones would be the same unless they are putting different information into the test item barcodes.0
