Sounds like a silly question, i have a small white envelope to post at the post office, does it have to go over the counter?

The staff at the post office are making comments to me, 'this can be posted in the box outside' etc..

Making me feel stupid, am i ok to use the post box outside, and then only use over the counter for the items, that are too big? is this the correct way?

    Thank you

FAQ answer below. More can be found in post 2. :)

"Q) On the posting plan it say Post Office. Do I go in and had it over the counter?

    A) No, you never hand anything over the counter unless it does not fit into the post box outside e.g. Small Box."

Two items received today. One was a jiffy bag without either the extra paper or the cardboard insert, so it's just a flat, light envelope with a £3 stamp on it. The other had the sticker showing the receiver number stuck on to the SMART, covering the label with the SMART's ID.

One of the reasons I'm on the panel is that I had problems with my post in the past, so I like the idea of helping Royal Mail to improve and of them being held to account over their performance, but I'm really start to doubt how reliable any of this survey data actually is. If people can't even fill an envelope, can they be trusted to record all the other info correctly?

I'm getting quite a few received items with dates & times of when & where to post written on them - but the icing on the cake definitely goes to the sender who stuck a blue postit to the front of the envelope with the posting instructions!! I thought these mailings were meant to not attract attention.

Anybody else receive a roll of sellotape? Is it instead of stamps? Or am I about to get boxes to post?

Interested to hear if you have heard back with how to proceed on this, I have also received a paper schedule with an item crossed out and no envelope included however shows on line.
I got an e-mail back saying "we are aware of this" so I have ignored it and waiting to see if it drops off the online list.
I need to think of something new here...

It can go in the box outside, i'd mention what they are saying to PO Customer Services though..... pretty sure that's not the attitude they should have.........

It wouldn't be instead of stamps as they are a monthly incentive, it will either be to bulk something out with (like the paper/cardboard in the jiffy bags) or for sealing a box
