On my return from holiday yesterday I found that I have training items to send for 3 of the 4 weeks I was away, and that even though I had only sent off 1 weeks training items, I am on the full survey from the start of next week.
I will, of course, complete the sending of the training items on the appropriate days/times over the coming week.
One wonders about their "quality control" systems. I suspect there isn't one.0 -
I notice there's a new item on the News and Features page about a weekly Golden Smart prize - £100 of vouchers to be won if you receive a golden smart from TNS and return it to them. Only for active panellists though, so that counts me out for the moment.0

For those of you that haven't seen it yet the details of the new "Golden SMART" are on the news & features page0

I wonder who thought that up. What's the purpose of their operating a randam draw and then spending time (1) making up an item, (2) posting it, (3) checking for an email from the known recipient, (4) waiting for the golden smart to be received back, and finally (5) sending the vouchers? They are just making work for themselves when they could just make the draw and send the vouchers and spend the time saved in organising the survey? Or perhaps the idea is that it tests their being able to cope with the emails that they receive and to send things to the right person.
If it's about getting people to check their mail for Smarts because they have lost some in the last few months, it was their system that failed as far as I can tell. I had Smarts not included in my stock which I know I had reported as having been received but their computer system must have lost the information. If that happened for a day or two a while ago, no wonder they lost them.
My OH thinks the long drawn out process is meant to add to the sense of a lottery and excitement, wondering whether an item will contain the golden smart. Personally I think wondering whether I'll get an email saying I've won holds as much excitement. (It's happened once to me in years of being a panellist.)0 -
Perhaps each Golden SMART winner will have her/his name engraved on the Golden SMART for all to admire.

In an email i received the other day about the new APL posting method (the one where we have to pay cash at the post office and are reimbursed with vouchers) they claim it is "an added incentive to collect & open all your mail"... it seems like a rather silly way of running what is effectively a random prize draw to me!0 -
I'm pleased I have reached the end of my six months. All the changes mean extra hassle and I live quite a walk from the nearest post office.
I won't be rejoining the panel.0 -

No I got an extra stamped jiffy bag and it's definitely a surplus one as my posting plan items are accounted for . Was just going to keep it to one side in case something else should follow later0
