  • Just wondering how many queries you guys get roughly. I've had 3 in 2 weeks asking me to double check the day something arrived. I am positive when it arrived yet it says the SMART indicates otherwise. Curious as to how this happens?

Plus, how often do you receive things wrong? Had 2 items today, both of which were wrong. 1 didn't have a SMART but was meant to and the other was in an envelope with a 1st class stamp yet said 2nd on the label.

The queries get generated usually because the item has sat in a post box longer than the sender and receiver say...and in a way thats the whole point of the survey to pick up trends about how the post is handled by royal mail.

Its not anything you can influence but if the smart indicates it didnt start its journey until later than the original poster has input or has taken longer to arrive at your house being its destination then so be it.

Again "getting things that are wrong" ie incorrect stamping on the envelope against what the label says....well that is really human error on the part of the panelist that posted it to you!!
It happens...really it shouldnt but if everone prepares their envelopes as per the correct instructions this type of error wouldnt occur.

ive been doing the postal panel now for about 4 years and in that time ive had a few items that are incorrect...more so recently since a lot more new panelists joined
Coincidently until today I had never received an incorrect item in my posting pack for next week...but I have an envelope thats not accouned for either online or on paper...so it goes to show that everyone does make mistakes sometimes

  • Just wondering how many queries you guys get roughly. I can recall having only one query from TNS in the last six months. It was about date of receipt and I think the system had not recorded my report correctly. I've had 3 in 2 weeks asking me to double check the day something arrived. I am positive when it arrived yet it says the SMART indicates otherwise. Curious as to how this happens? The Smart will have noted the transit through the system but not to your door. Could a neighbour have received your item and put it through your letterbox a day later?

Plus, how often do you receive things wrong? Had 2 items today, both of which were wrong. 1 didn't have a SMART but was meant to and the other was in an envelope with a 1st class stamp yet said 2nd on the label. I don't often receive incorrect things. Getting the wrong class stamp will be probably because the sender didn't check things properly against the paper schedule. Someone who should have received the 1st class item is going to be reporting a 2nd class receipt I guess. It's why they get you to confirm postage etc. I've received an item which had the wrong number for my house but a neighbour brought it round straight away.

  • Has anyone continued to get posting packs and receive mail items when they have logged in their holidays? I had booked holidays which are noted on my account, due to unforeseen circumstances I have not gone away but have still received items to post (2 weeks so far overlapping my time off) plus have continued to receive items.

This thread has sadly degenerated into what's basically now a replacement for the support that TNS ought to be providing, which is a shame.

It's now so clogged with questions that could easily be answered by referring to the FAQ (https://rmpanelzone.research-int.com/FAQ/frmFAQMain2.aspx) that there's precious little else on it!

Are people aware of the FAQ?

Yes, these come with the insert for the R label exactly the same as other letters.

The Smart came with my posting pack and is now showing red on my to post items. They sent a smart along with the rest of the smarts and envelopes to post this week. States i needed to send it out before the final post today, second class to response services. However there was no envelope provided and on the online schedule does not show an envelope type . Have sent them 2 emails and was unable to get through this morning due to line being busy.Hopefully they will be in touch soon.

This can happen if you haven't entered your holiday information in earlier enough for them to take you out of the system for that period. From memory I think this is at least 3 weeks before.

Do you mean the largish plain white envelope which they have started to use to put in some of the smaller envelopes and the incentive stamps etc?

I started my training a week before my holidays were due to start, even though I had informed TNS 2 months in advance. On my return from holiday yesterday I found that I have training items to send for 3 of the 4 weeks I was away, and that even though I had only sent off 1 weeks training items, I am on the full survey from the start of next week.

I will, of course, complete the sending of the training items on the appropriate days/times over the coming week.
