Does anyone know who I need to ring to chase up my claim? They sent for my medical records about a month ago but I've heard nothing more- it's nearly 4 months since I applied.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

If you've not had your assessment yet. First phone DWP to see if it has been passed to Atos yet, if so when? If not, what is the delay.Does anyone know who I need to ring to chase up my claim? If it has been sent to Atos, phone them about an assessment appointment. If they don't have any, keep phoning. Look at the other centres you can get to (on their website) and ask to go to one of them if they have any appointments. If there are no appointments, ask for a cancellation. If no cancellations, phone daily until you get one.
If you've had an appointment, is it still with Atos? If so, Why?
If it has been sent back to DWP ask when. Check with DWP they received it. It takes about 3 weeks from when DWP get it back.
It really is a case of the people that keep contacting them get on fastest.
They are estimating about 6 months now (26 weeks) but there is no reason it should take this long.

Atos isn't doing all PIP assessments, in some areas it is Capita who, I think, exclusively do home assessments, they have no centres.
Don't be shy in contacting MPs and making complaints, it's the only way my claim finally got dealt with and and how my reconsideration was dealt with promptly. I have linked to a blog post in here somewhere that I did that has all the email addresses I used.
I agree with others, the last few weeks once the report is back from Atos/Capita are the worst in terms of anxiety and stress.
As for getting the premiums added to my ESA, that took me three weeks and a lot of phone calls to sort because the ESA system said I wasn't in receipt of PIP and the onus was on me to prove otherwise with a fax of my award letter. Just another example of how ridiculous the systems are and how dreadful the DWP currently is.0 -
Capita was dealing with mine , very slowly. They do use centres as i had an appointment to go to birmingham which i couldnt get to. I could have had a taxi which cost £25 of which they would give me £10. Was not acceptable so waited 2 weeks for a home visit. They then had report for ages.0

Hi,
I know this is probably a stupid question but does the file, assessment application need to be seen before an assessment? What I mean is if I phone and ask to be assessed somewhere else to speed up the process will my application be available to the assessor?0 -
Yes it's on the computer so all online. My assessor had no papers at all, It was read off computer and form filled on computer while she dealt with me. One thing I did though, was sit really close so I could read what she was putting!!!!Holly_dolly wrote: »Hi,
