I'm not saying that this is going to happen in all cases where someone has a time limited award and is having to apply for PIP.
Before I could say anything more, she said that all time limited awards are being extended by up to 6 months because of the delays at ATOS (Medical Services) & the DWP. She confirmed the current award has been extended to the 22nd August 2014 and admitted that this is only being done for those that complain about the delays!!!
Hmm. My DLA (Highest rate mobility) was to be renewed in September. I filled in the form but DLA was cancelled in September. I was told I had to apply for PIP. Should, after daily phone calls, have had my assessment last week, but it was cancelled on the day of the assessment due to 'sickness.'
I've had no DLA benefit since September although I have been told any benefit will be backdated. I think I'll have to write this time, rather than phoning.
I do have another assessment appointment for 2 weeks time though.0 -
Of course, as always seems to be the way for me with these things, still no decision made. They've had my report for 3 weeks now and every time I call the length of time I should expect to wait for a decision gets longer and longer, it went from 2 weeks, to 2-3 weeks and today up to 4 weeks. It's really making my health much worse all this waiting and calling every couple of days which also causes me distress. Thoroughly and completely fed up.0

So sorry to hear that you are still waiting - but have faith - unlike ATOS, DWP told me that they have a 4 week time limit to get the decisions done from receipt of the report. After that you have course for complaint - keeping my fingers crossed for you that you hear in the next week.0 -

Has your report made it out of auditing yet smudge?
I think I'm especially frustrated because I'm nearly at what will hopefully be the finishing line and others seemed to get their decisions pretty swiftly at this stage but mine is taking the maximum amount of time allowed.0 -
hi 925dancer yes it has moved from audit it is with dwp , like you mine seems to be taking forever as well i have seen others getting decisions in days of dwp getting they reports . dwp has had my report since 4th of feb and still nothing .yeah i was told the maxim time allowed by the dwp is 4 weeks do they not realise how long we have already had to wait . if they take the maxim then i would have went 9 and half months from start to finish i will be making a complaint . hi all, latest on wifes pip claim, dwp had claim back from capita 2 weeks ago,so wife phoned dwp today and wifes claim has been sent back to capita and they have apparently made a bulls up of the discriptorsmdwp said they do not know when claim returned from capita ,has capita has no time scale, then when returned back from capita ,it can then take dwp up to a month to adjudicate claiam, how much longer is this farce gonna be,in a few days ,she will be into her 9 month, wife left message with mp to get back to her as mp ,s last letter stated that she would have a decision on her claim by 10th February, this put my wife in a careless mood and said "f--k the pip",so this is the end for her I,m afraid, wants me to cancel pip claim with dwp,but I am still gonna fight her corner, let you know what developes.0

You got the report on the 31st of Jan and it's only the 13th Feb now.

Er no, the DWP got the report on the 23rd January (why you think I'd be sent it shows again you haven't read properly), they have another week to go and although they have 4 weeks I have been told on different occasions that it would take 2 weeks, which is what my MP was also told. But thanks for the not at all helpful post!0 -

This is supposed to be a supportive site. We've all been waiting months, 925 dancer. I've been waiting 6 months for my assessment, and had one cancelled on the morning of the day it was supposed to be carried out. I'm sure Quack quack wasn't intending to upset you, but we've all been told it takes up to 4 weeks from when DWP get the report back. You do still have a week to go.0
