Hi all, in process of Mandatory Reconsideration on behalf of my daughter and cant seem to find any recounts of anyone who has gone through it for PIP. Does anyone know of anyone who has, how long it took and if they were successful. I was told by someone recently that is is nigh impossible to get a decision overturned so you can imagine I felt a bit hopeless. Anyone know anything for sure. Can only seem to find recounts from JSA sanctions and ESA declines not declined PIP claims. Anyone know anything?
Hi kken, It's a waiting game again. My MR is now been 4 weeks and i was told 8-9 or longer cos of the backlog. Remember don't give up0 -

Hi Geordie girl,
I did wonder if you were going for MR. Followed your posts for a while and saw yours and Mrs Ryans declines at the same time. I knew she had gone for MR but had thought you had decided not to take things further. So glad you have! Yep, its another waiting game but its quite difficult as there are not too many personal recounts of the process. Keep in touch and I will let you know any developments too. Might help others who end up in the same boat. Hope you are successful, never fail to be astounded by peoples refusals. Take care:)0 -

Hi, thank you for the support. I did contact my MP at about the 46 week stage and it took him a month to respond to me. He just sent a short letter to DWP saying this seems to be taking a while, whats going on. Unfortunately not much help really but feel he probably has been approached by a few claimants for help and sends a stock reply. I could try again but dont really hold out much hope of help there. If it goes to tribunal, I am going to get help from the CAB as they appear to be having some success.0 -
Got my letter from Capita this morning saying I will need a medical. It is still giving the mantra that most decisions are being made 21-26 weeks after claim.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
Hi kken, Will do, hope you are successful to. By the way my Mp contacted IDS about delays, but just got standard letter about PIP being new benefit etc.0

Hi guys
I had a home assessment yesterday. From the replies I have read on this thread I am not holding out much hopeThe assessor was nice but I did feel like she was trying to put words in my mouth.
Trying to explain my difficulties to her was incredibly hard. I found myself forgetting to tell her stuff, stumbling over what I was saying and not making much sense at all!
It should be simple really. I am quite evidently disabled, therefore I should be entitled to disability benefits. Sadly it doesn't quite work that way.
I am struggling very much at the moment and have recently just got out of hospital having been sectioned for 2 months. If I lose my DLA, I will also lose my housing benefit. I'm on leave frmo university at the moment so still classed as a student. I am in receipt of ESA but when I go back to uni, without DLA/PIP I will not be able to pay my rent, will have to move from my flat etc.
I am so anxious waiting for the decision. It was only yesterday and she said it would be approx. 2 weeks until I hear anything. I am not particularly good at waiting, especially with this anxiety!0 -
I have finally got the decision. It was made yesterday and i found out today. I've been awarded standard for both! I'm still shaking and i can't believe that this long journey since end of November last year is finally over! I'm in the support group for esa so i can now finally claim severe disability too. So happy. Good luck to those still waiting their decisions.0
