Interesting. With DLA, there was a form they sent out to check that you were receiving the right amount of benefit. But you weren't selected if you were awarded less than 12 months ago.

Do you know what name / number the form is? Normally they have specific names which imply in some way what they are.

The form was the on line carer's allowance one. When we were filling it in I checked details on my PIP award letter that's when I saw I'd mis read when I would be 'reviewed'. I'd also mis read how long I'd been awarded. Or got the years mixed up. I keep doing it, I think since I've been unwell Ive lost years so still think it's 2012! Like time's stood still only it hasn't.

    Hi all.

Just found this site and found the posts really useful. I was wondering if anyone knows what happens once the case manager rings you regarding an appeal? I have been awarded enhanced mobility benefit but denied the care component/ \I received my letter last week and a short run down of the reasons why not awarded the care side. This neither reflects my situation or what I told the assessor. I was awarded 7 points. How long will I have to wait for a decision regarding the appeal. Like everyone on here although I am very grateful for the benefit awarded its been going on for almost 11 months already.

Postman just been and I have the "sorry it's taking so long" letter. It was dates the 8th august and delivered today 14th august so even the letters are taking a long time to arrive. Like everyone else the waiting is driving me nuts it seems to have taken over my life with everything being put on hold until this is done. I need a new wheelchair as my nhs one is too heavy but I am waiting to see what happens.

Just called dwp - no decision told file moved to another department to expedite and more staff being taken on - probably another week or two.

Also confirmed my original call was on 22nd November 2013 so now on week 38.

I GOT IT!!!!!! I just rang them expecting the usual 'nothing's showing yet..'

Standard for both until 2017. I honestly cannot believe it. I had to fight to get LRC for DLA so I really didn't hold out much hope at all.

I get a small amount of IR ESA at present, I think the PIP award may mean I'm entitled to a disability premium?

This may now mean that I can finish my Masters!!!!!
