Great news Caz
What a day for you!
kken - that's just shocking! I hope you have enough energy to do an MR.
I have just spent the last 3 hours writing a letter to the DWP. I copied and pasted each activity and points descriptor and described my daughters care needs iro of each one. I said precisely the points I felt she should have been awarded and it totalled 25 at a minimum. I acknowledged that she didnt meet mobility needs but typing it all out made me even more mad they didnt award her anything. She would only need 8 points for standard care yet scores 25. How on earth does that correlate? I am not going to back down, I am determined to get her some help. She is my daughter and I love her so much. It hurts so much to see her a shadow of herself when she was always so vibrant.
I am glad some of you are getting your awards though and I really hope all you guys still waiting get a positive outcome. Anybody have any idea how often decisions get overturned?
Thanks my heart goes out to you am your daughter over 52percent get overturned in 30 days I looked it up Incase I had a fight I can't believe you never got awarded for what you's go through and defo think it will be over turned quickly
I still don't Believe a hour with a stranger can determine someone's life (even though mine came through correct ) for two years hospitals thought I had nothing wrong till one doc did a certain test to find out my pelvic was crumbling and had to be giving emergency surgery nhs let me down badly and they have actually said that.
My point there is no one can understand a day to day living in short time
I feel for you as I know how hard I would of took it if I didn't pass its acceptance for me (i think it would be harder for a loved one ) I live with day to day guilt because I haven't made tea cleaned the house. I use to have three jobs and have a clean house and teas Made on time now I do nothing like that. My hubby left work a while back as he would come in and i would wait all day for food just struggled I really believe it will be turned over for you's and you's can then focus on life better
I want everyone on here to feel like I did yesterday you's all deserve that acceptance and the only thing you need to focus on is the future xx0 -
Hi All
I have been waiting for a decision on PIP for my Son we applied back in January and he had his F2F 4 weeks ago.
Capita sent my report to the DWP on Wednesday, I later got a call from a CM as my MP got involved 4 weeks ago as this decision will determine if my son gets to stay on his special needs college course or not.
The CM said she had seen his file and he had been awarded Enhanced, Enhanced and she would rush this through so we can give the college a hard copy letter to get him on the course, However I called yesterday to ask how long the award had been issued for and got a really rude man who Said the case had not come over to them yet and as far as he was concerned, he might not get anything so don’t bank on the Money!!! As you can imagine I explained it wasn’t about the money it was about getting my sons college sorted.
Has anyone ever herd of this happening, I was so happy the other day no I am so confused.0 -

She may actually qualify for some mobility. You've said in your posts that she needs someone outside with her. I don't know the exact descriptor off the top of my head; but it is possible to receive mobility if your mobility need is to have someone outside with you - even if you are capable of walking.Sealed pot challenge #232. I think some people have been lucky and it's been around the four week mark. My f2f was on 11th June, and they've not looked at it yet. I've been told to ring a week today...we'll see.
kken - glad you've managed to put together a comprehensive mr. It does sound like there's scope for the mobility component though, might be worth a fresh set of eyes having a gander for you? I think sometimes we're so enmeshed in the situation it's hard to see the wood for the trees.
caz - depending on your circumstances, your ESA may now attract premiums, I'll look for the passported benefits links when I get a min xx0 -

The mobility descriptors which are relevant to KK's daughter would be:
1. Planning and following journeys.
a. Can plan and follow the route of a journey unaided. 0 points.
b. Needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 4 points.
c. Cannot plan the route of a journey. 8 points.
d. Cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person, assistance dog or orientation aid. 10 points.
e. Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 10 points.
f. Cannot follow the route of a familiar journey without another person, an assistance dog or an orientation aid. 12 points.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
