Update
Just a quick update to let you all know we are still waiting to exchange. We are waiting for the ATE to be sent to the solicitors. So far we have been waiting ten days for this. Apparently this often happens with the Homebuy agent. But once we exchange I will leave a post0 -
Hiya all still here and still waiting to exchange. Help to buy has been so popular the Homebuy agent is very stretch and therefore the process is taking much longer than it should0

Update
We still haven't exchange. This us due to the developers at the last minute changing their mind in the completion date. When we paid the reservation they said we had to exchange by the 22/11/13. This then started everything including the full mortgage. Within the letter it also said legal completion by March 2014.
However now they are saying they cannot complete by this date and at the moment will not give us a date. The mortgage expires on the 30.4.14, so really not good. Also our authority to proceed from the help to buy scheme is valid for three months and expires on 14.1.14. So at the beginning we were worried about getting a mortgage which we eventually managed, however we may now loose the house due to the developers giving us the wrong time scales. This is so unfair0 -
Hooray - we exchanged today. We have a completion date if the 31,3.12 with a long stop completion on the 30.4.13, with a clause written in saying if we do not complete on time we can have all our money back and no charges. This is due to our mortgage offer expiring on the 30.4.140

Hi Penny, just been reading this thread. Do you mind saying how much deposit you had? I'm looking to try and buy once the BR falls off my CF in 2016.0

We had 5% which was £13,500. So still quite a bit but worth it in the end0

Hi to you all
Well I am still waiting. We had a completion date of the 31st march 2014 with a long stop completion date of the 30th April 2014. Stress is starting to increase as the property is not going to be completed by the 31st march and out mortgage expires on the 30th April 2014, so I now do not have many nails left. After all the stress of the mortgage lets wait and see.0
