    Update
Less than a week to go before we complete the full mortgage application. Starting to worry just like I did for the DIP. The trouble is I have read so many stories in this forum where people have got the DIP but then refused for the mortgage, really scared

formal application on the 28th October and formal offer on the 1st November five days start to finish. However the DIP did take three weeks.

steve4mandy - keep positive you sound as if you are in a similar place to me and we were successful in the end so I am sure you will get there, keep me posted. We started on the 10th Sept with a DIP that referred through Nationwide. With all the questions they asked we were open and honest and supplied the paperwork they required and eventually got the formal mortgage offer on the 1st Nov so it took nearly two months but the feeling I have today makes up for all the stress. I now need to keep my fingers crossed that we do not have bad weather and the house is built on time.

Penny, that is fabulous news. Well done on gaining the mortgage. It's lovely to see a positive story. All the best for the future.
